Asperous — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We started with Asperous as we worked our way down the drag trying out the restaurants over a month or so living in the area. I can say with absolute certainty that the food here on each of the three occasions we ate there was fantastic. The standard to which a Greek restaurant is measured in my opinion are the quality of the potato chips. This place has delicious chips! But my favourite were the, ‘kolokithokeftethes’ (zucchini fritters), and ‘Horta’ (boiled local greens). These two were just about perfect. I also tried their pork chop, the stuffed veg, Mousaka, and fried calamari. All over several visits of course, but I loved the place. The staff were very accommodating on every occasion, and just as a final note, one of our visits were during the day and it was stifling hot! The person who served us brought out two ice cold beers in frosty glasses, and we had several more each time a fresh frosty...

The food is delicious, full of taste and everything you'd expect from Greek cuisine (and more!) I've had dinner there three times during my stay in Agios Nikitas and every time I've been impressed by the food I've ordered - I was set on seafoods (grilled octopus, grilled calamari, swordfish provencal) and I've enjoyed it immensely! My friends tried other courses as well and trust me, whether it's pork steak a la creme or haloumi or fava, none of us was ever disappointed! Also, the staff is extraordinary and the atmosphere is great - the famous Greek hospitality and friendliness is ever-present! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and I will surely stop by again when I visit Lefkada in the future, regardless whether I stay in Agios...

Good service, good food. (2019) PS. (2022) 2 years later it's totally different. Maybe the staff is changed. Food was disappointment. (2023) I still wonder why this place is number 1 at TripAdvisor? Don't deserve it. And maybe because of the good comment's the prices are a bit higher compared to the places I visited in Agios Nikitas. Waitress served the salad after 40 min because I asked why is taking so long. Instead of vegetable risotto she brought to the table risotto with shrimps. Fried zucchini were looking like a boiled zucchini. Maybe I m the only unlucky person who had bad experience with this place. This restaurant it's not in my list anymore.
