First of all, don’t order all mezes at the same time, they bring you everything immediately, thus it gets cold. I think the restaurant is overrated. The auberginedip was nice, and the cold red housewine too. The calamari were chewy (more than normally) and not spiced with anything and no dip with it, the fries appeared to be thin slices of potato, tasting a bit like plastic . The porc was ok. The cook sat outside after making our diner and was suffering from a cold I think, he constantly turned up his nose loudly, which was at least very unpleasant, the food was less tasty because of that! Read moreWe found Gonia quite by accident having arrived by car in Lixouri. The restaurant is tucked away down a side street just off the main square. Looking at the menu we decided to order 6 plates between 2 of us thinking that they would be relatively small. On reflection we could probably managed with one each. But, rather than giving up we managed to just about clear the lot. The food was excellent, the service extremely friendly and the price was pretty good too. Dog friendly tavern and staff! Family tavern, very delicious food and we had a lot different dishes!! It was amazing how gentle and generous were the owners!
