A well located hotel just off the centre of Lixouri. However despite mostly attentive staff the 3 star prices cannot hide how woefully the rooms are outdated. The lack of updating and modernising is evident in many parts of the hotel. But mostly in the rooms themselves:
Tiny shower mixer tap arrangements Loss of hot water early evening (not seen that in 40 years!) Sinks with plugs that don't hold water Broken shower head when we arrived ( fixed quickly though) Antiquated fitted wardrobes Broken insect screen doors Physical key for each room. With Room number on the tag and the antiquated practice of handing the keys every time you leave the hotel.
The last point shows this lack of investment in the basics of room security highlighted by some reception handing us the wrong room key one night. You don't need to think too hard about the bad stuff that could lead to!!
Didn't use any of the pool/ bar services. Seeing (usually) Brits putting out their towels on sunloungers before 6am was pathetic and despite signs saying not to, it was not enforced by the hotel.
Breakfast was lacklustre and was unappealing with little variety and no choices or signage on different dietary requirements: gluten free, vegetarian, non dairy milks etc.
This is no longer a 3 star hotel. It is 2 stars. The lack of modernising is hidden by attentive staff but the recent price rise across the hotel sector means this is in danger of being dropped by major tour operators by feedback and perceived high prices for what...
Read moreWe arrived at the hotel after a very early morning flight, and it was a real bonus to be able to leave our bags at reception, change into our swimwear, and head straight for the pool. The reception staff were extremely friendly throughout our stay, which made a great first impression.||The hotel itself is looking a little tired in places, and unfortunately our room was right beside the one lift that was in constant use during the day and much of the night. I didn’t complain, as we were only there for three nights and I managed to tune the noise out, but for someone else it could be more of an issue.||There was always plenty of hot water, but the bathroom did cause some problems. There was a strong smell from the drains, and the floor kept flooding as water backed up from the sink. The basin didn’t have a plug, so my husband had to keep the tap running when shaving, which didn’t feel very energy-efficient. On top of that, when I placed the shower head into its wall hook, it fell and hit me on the head—not the end of the world, but still another niggle.||On the positive side, the cleaning staff were fantastic—always cheerful and friendly, greeting us every morning. We didn’t dine at the hotel, but the breakfast menu looked quite interesting.||Would I stay here again? Possibly, but definitely not in...
Read moreLet’s start with positive points the hotel is located directly at the beach, this beach is very much recommended to families cuz the the sea is always low tied. |The hotel staff were always helpful and kind, hotel room size is OK. The hotel located from the ferry boat just a 10 min walking distance. ||About negative experiences: ||- The breakfast variety is extremely poor, basically the kitchen is decided what kind of breakfast plate you are getting served and as a guest has one choice: take it or leave it. I saw many other tables are left huge amount of food wastage, my advise to the management to consider a very small buffet or prior menu system, upon of arrival the guest can choose 1 breakfast menu out of 2-3 options. Thai case at least we would have an idea what would be our expectation. ||- WIFI coverage is extremely limited, from the pool is not working at all and even from the room many times has a disconnection. ||- The bathroom needs effective fresh air support, only solution at the moment to open the terrace door which is not the right solution.||- Bathroom has a strong drainage smell as well. ||Overall we went with last minute offer and what I paid it was lined with the value but if I would have paid full price definitely I would...
