Mezzo — Restaurant in Lixouri Municipality

We went to Lixouri about 4 weeks ago and wanted whole grilled fish,stumbled across to harbour and found this Mezzo restaurant. Looking at the menu outside a chap came over to us and said "come with me to my fridge ".Well it was shelves of beautiful fresh fish,lobsters and all types.We picked two large size sea bass,to be grilled.Bottle of their wonderful wine too.They were the loveliest staff,so attentive and good humour.When the fish was served it was an absolute delight,real potato chips and massive Greek salad. We also had a great desert ,made there .Cocktail was perfect.What a lovely way to spend an evening just eating, drinking and laughing,people watching,so of course we went the next 2 nights too.The next night they had reserved the same lovely setee seat with table at front of house as before.Bottle of wine ready in cold ice bucket.We chose a pork dish cooked slow with honey and onions,wow it was delicious.We had it again the last night of our holiday too.The owner,a delightful lady asked if we wanted to speak to the chef as it was her dish.Maria Thankyou sooo much for our wonderful meal,it was a pleasure to meet you.I wish we could have found this restaurant before,we would have been a permanent fixture that's for sure.Thankyou to all at the Mezzo restaurant you absolutely made our holiday.Gill and Rob.PS thanks Maria...

Main Menu very small. Its has two components, one beef - some fries. No salat or tzaziki. You wont getting ask for Mayonnaise or Ketchup. Do separate orders. No menu detail descriptions only names - so you wont know what you get for a reason i guess. At the end i have ordered a desert called "Cheesecake" looks like the picture attached, first i thought it will end with a fresh baked Cheesecake, but you get a cream with some sort of sugar under it and a berry topping what might is a convenience food or self mixed berrys, cant tell. In total i had like two picks of it, and it ended with a disappointment since i was expecting a Cheesecake. Maybe its my fault, but i think a clear rating gives potential for improvements - i feel like an island should not automatically stay for bad quality food compared to athen or other european countrys. Didnt try fish btw. Service way busy talking...

In the beginning I would like to say that generally I’m a chilled customer in restaurants and other services. In case of mezzo I was shocked about the self confidence of an waiter who said “we are the best restaurant in town” - a tip for you “let the service and dish talk about it self without convincing your clients”

The place is located on the shore and that is the only strong point which I noticed. The food is very “touristic” targeted, you can find much better food nearby.

Disgusting thing for me was the fact that all of waitress were smoking cigarettes just behind us and then they were serving food without noticing that we are with an Infant and some people just hate smoke...
