Greek Taverna — Restaurant in Meteora Municipality

Please DO NOT GO HERE. This is not the large restaurant next door, even if the old man tries to sit you here and you make a mistake like us. In our experience the male owner will be disrespectful from the start then ignore females who ask for the bill, keep you waiting for 40 mins after multiple requests. Then when you go to pay for a 31 euro meal with a 50 euro note, he will instead reach uninvited into your wallet to select the notes that he wants including a tip for himself - just unacceptable and so creepy. He also ignored our drink order - tap water - to substitute what he felt more appropriate, more expensive mineral water which he thumped onto the table, without consulting us. In our opinion AVOID AT ALL COSTS - go next door to Panellinio which looked friendly, laid back and comfortable...

The food was decent, but the service was absolutely unacceptable. The older waiter was incredibly rude and lacked even the most basic manners. He charged us for water we never ordered, threw items on the table without a word, and acted as if serving us was a burden.

When we asked to pay, he said “in a moment” and then ignored us for another 20 minutes. After asking again, a different staff member came looking for the receipt — which the same rude waiter had already taken away earlier.

In the end, we were only able to pay after firmly going up to the counter ourselves. It almost seemed like they were deliberately delaying payments to make it look like the place was busy.

Would not return, and I strongly recommend others think twice before...
