Found this hidden gem and fell in love with the warm welcoming service from Sophia and the delicious cuisine from her husband who is the talented chef. It was the most flavorful food we had in Crete and we ended up our last two nights because it was SO good. They made seafood so fresh and perfectly seasoned and prepared: I’m still salivating over the experience… We started off with the complimentary tastes of dips, and followed with eggplant purée, grilled mushrooms (yum!!), grilled octopus cooked to perfection, grilled langoustines— best in my life, grilled calamari, steamed mussels (fabulous), fries, grilled sardines and grilled vegetables. Everything was OUTSTANDING, I cannot recommend Arismari enough. We ate at everything this week from gourmet, to fine dining to seaside dinners and nothing compares to Arismari. We had an excellent experience at Arismari. It’s a family run business where the mom and son do the service and father cooks amazing in the kitchen. They speak fluent english and understood very well that we wanted to take the dinner slow. We had their grilled sea bream and roasted lamb. Sea bream was cooked to perfection: perfect charred on the skin, moist flesh, very well seasoned and it’s the first time I had fish that doesn’t have any bitterness guts was cleaned very well fish was definitely freshly caught! For the lamb, it was soft yet still had a bite to it. It was served with potatoes which I might prefer with some kind of vegetable to accompany.
