Lovely hotel over all. The service is impeccable, the room service and cleaning staff are amazing.
We can't fault all of their dedication, work ethics and team work, to make our holiday brilliant.
There are two fantastic pools, both having the water line up to the top of the pool, thus making it easier for people to exit and in my opinion always a lot better pool. The main one being aimed at adults, with the shallow end being 1.3m going to the deep end at 3.1m. The second pool being aimed at adults and supervised children, with the shallow end being 0.7m going to the deep end at 1.8m. this pool is smaller in dimensions as well, however just as good. They're both cleaned well on a daily basis, all litter and bins emptied. Both have sun loungers around then, on a first come basis. However you will find, like with any holiday, there's always someone who gets their towels out early!
The whole hotel area is well maintained, gardens looked after, all areas, inside and out, clean, today and well presented.
The hotel rooms are good overall. However in my opinion, they are dated, could do with modernising, the shower is off a mixer situated in the middle of the bath, with a shower curtain. This is practical and works. The beds are two singles together with individual sheeting, not the best for us couples, however some may like to have some peace!!
Each room has outside space as far as we could see. We had a balcony overlooking a small grassed area. We didn't opt for upgrading to sea views, you may.
Each room has air-conditioning, ours worked fine. A small TV , however we didn't come here to watch TV. A small fridge, which was very practical, for water and fruit. There is a wardrobe for hanging along with four shelves, bedside tables, a table with the TV on, with a mirror.
We opted for half board, which included breakfast and dinner. Overall the food was well presented, fresh, lots of options for everyone to choose from, even someone as fussy as me. However, I feel the evening dining was frustrating for me as the food was not hot, rather like warm. Not something I was happy with. After speaking with a couple of staff, not a lot could be done to rectify this. It could just be me, maybe for everyone else they were happy.
This hotel is definitely suited for couples and has a calmer laid back atmosphere, which we revelled in. There are livelier hotels in other towns with greater night life, if you wish, we didn't. There was generally live music on every evening, which suited a lot of people. The bar there was not for me, I found the bar tender to be short, sharp in his answers. I could never work out if it was table service or not. One night it was, the next night, after waiting at our table, I went to the bar after 15 minutes to be treated like I didn't belong there. Received my drinks, paid my money and then didn't get my change, which I was going to offer to him anyway, however I didn't get that choice! After that we went elsewhere to drink after eating. There's plenty to opt for.
Overall, a very lovely place, especially for value. The staff are amazing and work really hard to make your...
Read moreHad a lovely 10 night stay at Maritimo Beach hotel. This is our first time visiting Sissi but will not be our last. Here are a few points that you may find useful if you have booked/ considering booking this hotel. |Positives|-Immaculately clean throughout the hotel - bedrooms, bathrooms, restaurant, reception, pool/ garden areas all spotless. Staff work tirelessly all day to keep up very high standards. |-Staff really helpful and friendly. The lady welcoming guests into the restaurant was our favourite. Smiley, happy and pleasant always :)|-Plenty sunbeds - though if you like a certain spot to sunbathe, you need to put towels down around 8am. |-Food presented and cooked well. A wide range of choice to suite everyone. |-Location is perfect - a minutes walk to a gorgeous cove. Lovely for swimming or exploring the rock pools. Also very close to a supermarket, souvenir shops, tavernas, bars and restaurant’s. |-Aircon in the room is powerful. Operated by the key fob so only works when you’re in the room.|-Reasonable prices at the snack bar and bar of an evening. Complimentary crisps are a nice touch. ||Negatives|-Nowhere to dry clothes. A small clothes drying rail or washing line on the balcony would be ideal to dry swimwear. |-Superior family rooms have limited wardrobe storage for a family of 4 so if you are coming to stay in one, be prepared to live out of suitcases too!|-Some sunbeds and parasols are in need of an upgrade. Some beds are broken and some parasols are lose in their base and blow over easily. |-Food needs to be replenished much, much quicker. Often find people stood around waiting for empty trays to be refilled. Similarly with bowls - they seem to be very limited and more often than not you have to get a soup bowl (if you’re lucky to find one) for your ice cream/ dessert because there are no dessert bowls left. |-No safety deposit boxes in rooms. They are available to hire behind reception but really for a 4* accommodation, these should be free and in guests rooms.|-Pool towels available to hire to the tune of €7 per towel. Again, for a 4* accommodation, these should be free.|-Limited plug sockets in the room so bring an extension if you have multiple items to charge at the same time. |-Tourist tax! This is not a reflection at all on the hotel as it is a Government ruling but it’s still annoying that it has to be paid at the end of your holiday. ||*If you have booked through Jet2 and receive an email about building works at the neighbouring hotel, please do not worry. We weren’t disturbed at all...
Read moreWe arrived late at the hotel (delayed) but we were warmly greeted and taken to our room ( the receptionist took our cases). We had room 209, a 2 bed, 2 showered room with an amazing view. We could see all across the bay and front pool and all across to Malia. |Very clean, beautiful towels and linens, lovely bathroom accessories, shower gel etc. and a really comfortable bed. The maids did an excellent job. Limited TV stations but that didn't concern us, a fridge was very handy and we had no issues getting WiFi.|The restaurant had lovely staff, very friendly, even if we saw them outside of the hotel, they'd say hi. Food was ok, not always hot unfortunately but we enjoyed the food they offered. Loved having coffee or tea served to the table at breakfast, a nice touch. |Nikos at the bar was really friendly and by the second night he'd remembered how we liked our coffee and Baileys!|The pool was really clean and well tended to, the pool bar served really fresh, tasty food, really enjoyable.|Entertainment two evenings was a saxophone player and a pianist, both very good.|The location of the hotel is amazing, we stood on the balcony one afternoon and watched a wedding ceremony nearby. |I hardly listened to any music while we were there, which is unusual for me, I just listened to the birds and the waves, it was magical. The gardens, fauna and flora were stunning and very well tended to.||The staff at this hotel make this hotel, they were all helpful and friendly, well done to all of you. (Some of the staff don't wear name badges which is a shame, I pointed it out to one of the waitresses and she told me her name but she also asked our names, which I thought was lovely).||I'd particularly like to thank the staff and hotel for helping us to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we had a fruit platter and a bottle of champagne delivered to our room.| It was a really lovely touch and the whole holiday is one that I'll never forget, it...
