We were staying in a fancy hotel nearby and were finding the evenings there a bit too formal/difficult to make friends.
So we ventured out to the Galley, and are so glad we did. Lovely beer served in a frosted glass, tasty snacks, excellent pizzas, free pool/darts. But best of all, we found some humanity! The barman is such a laugh, genuinely funny chap…the whole pub was socialising together, dancing to the excellent music.
Admittedly, we were mostly English…and meeting strangers and bonding over our shared love of pub culture is pretty familiar to us. That said, I’m sure every nationality would be welcomed.

Read moreA lovely wee sports bar, ideally situated between our hotel and the town centre. Making this the perfect stop off on the way back. Super attentive staff, who get to know their customers fast, which gives gives you, this is my local vibe after 2 visits. They're a lovely couple and really make the place. Read moreMe & my girlfriend stayed in Agios Nikolaos for 2 weeks! We discovered the Galley after a lady at our hotel recommended it. Every nice we spend hours playing pool, dart & drinking pints! George always made us laugh and Jackie was sure to always make us feel welcome. When it was finally time to leave in the evening we were hesitant to go. A few nights we even stayed until closing to about 2:30am. I will for sure miss this place and the awesome people that run it. Cheers to George and Jackie for making our Holiday...
