Anna is an institution in Dassia, who would have though that a tourism focused beach town like that would have a place such as hers! Locally, it seems she very much doesn't need advertising anymore, but for people new to Dassia, this is a gem you might not expect! What you get: -All fresh and freshly cooked food prepared by just her! Fresh fish from the local fishermen. Home cut chips! (not like the crap industrial ones you get in many restaurants!) Home made pita! A meal made exactly to your liking, IF you order in advance! Grilling fresh takes a lot of time. I wanted grilled vegetables with my meal, I asked her the day before, so she could prepare them before preparing the meat. If you just walk in, you might have to take what she can prepare. My first time there I asked her for lamb chops, and she said no, she's grilling fish now. So I had an excellent Dorada instead. The next day I had the lamb chops for lunch after ordering them in advance!
-Good local wine she likes herself and recommends with confidence!
-A cat, a dog, and a chicken! (The chicken didn't come for petting...) -Some from the heart conversation, if she's not too busy! -A beautiful highly personal restaurant space
What you don't get, and should not expect: -A streamlined restaurant atmosphere -dishes prepared in 10 minutes from the freezer and microwave -constant attention by a waiter
I wasn't there in high season, so I don't know what it's like, then. She says she gets a bit of help for the high season, but not for the kitchen. That's...
Read moreHad a fantastic time, the setting outside is chilled. Anna came over and greeted us and asked us what we would like for dinner,we said seafood. We didn't even look at a menu she suggested seafood platter for 2 and a Greek salad.it was awesome, we also had a plate of chips of course which were great. House wine was outstanding, local served in a rustic carafe,so don't even know the name of it. A plate of the best warm and fresh pita I've ever had with a nice dollop of tatziki and some olives to start with. Nikos who served our drinks and food was really nice and friendly. After our meal Anna came and sat with us and we chatted about all things under the moonlight with a glass of ouzo and her favourite cat for company that lay on the one chair and I think listened intently to our conversations. An un assuming place from outside but dont be put off by that cause thats how you find the real deal local experience. by the way the prices were very reasonable recommend visiting this place as this is authentic fresh seafood and Greek hospitality at its best. They are open 12pm to 12 am. We booked a table while we were on the beach just to make sure we had a final night in Dassia to remember. I wish we had found this place earlier, lots of love Anna and...
Read moreWhat a gem of Greek cuisine and hospitality! We came by chance to Anna's Place, starving, and what we found was the sincerest welcome by Anna herself, the owner and the chef. We got offered the dishes from the meat having just arrived from the butcher and seafood straight from the fisherman. Also, we relied on Anna's taste and enjoyed pitas, tzadziki, olives, fries, kleftiko, seafood mix with amazing anchovies, giant shrimps and calamari. All that to a good amount of great white wine, yum! It was so good, fresh and hearty, that we started planning another visit here straight after the meal was done, and several kilometres on foot did not stop us from that. That's when we enjoyed the best grilled meat mix suggested by Anna, kebab, souvlaki, lamb, chicken, it was so finger-licking good, oh my! The vibe at the venue is very home-like, with cats and dogs coming by for a little pet 🐱🐶 Thanks Anna, you are a star! Best spot in Corfu in terms of food and hospitality we experienced...
