MYTHOS RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I ordered the grilled seafood mix (fish and octopus), and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The plate came with a small piece of salmon that tasted awful – clearly defrosted on the spot, pale in color and with an unpleasant texture. I had specifically asked if there was any decent fish suitable for my 3-year-old daughter, but this was definitely not it. The fried calamari rings seemed like a cheap frozen mix bought in bulk, rubbery and impossible to chew. The only edible item on the plate was a small piece of octopus tentacle. Everything else was just fillers: boiled potatoes served cold and mixed with some bland white sauce (mayonnaise/sour cream/yogurt – hard to tell), way too much dill thrown on top, and a cabbage salad that was soggy and sour, clearly prepared days in advance.

When I asked the waiter about the salmon, he confirmed it was frozen and told me that if I wanted fresh fish, I should pay three times more. The problem is, I’ve eaten in other taverns at similar prices where the seafood was fresh and of excellent quality. In the end, apart from the octopus and some grilled vegetables, nothing else on the plate was really edible. The garnishes looked like they were thrown in just to fill up the dish, without care for taste or quality.

Definitely not...

First, i will acknowledge that some businesses may be recovering from COVID and its the very end of the season, so restaurants and winding up for the year.

I wish i had taken a picture of the pizza we received (having decided due to almost nothing else on the menu being available to not have a main myself and to share my boyfriend’s pizza). Restaurants that have pictures on their menus are generally regarded as suspicious by many, but we’ve found that in Greece usually we are pleasantly surprised by what we get. We chose a pizza which had cheese, peppers, mushrooms and salami. What we received was a microwave pizza (we literally heard the “ping” sound going off 1 minute before it arrived) that not only looked nothing like the pizza on the menu, but was so far from anything like what we thought we had ordered that we had to laugh at what we ended up with. To top it off, the waiter and “chef” (chief microwaver) sat facing our table basically watching us as we ate. We were charged €10,80 for the privilege of that pizza.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Fingers crossed it was so bad because they are closing for the season and its not...

DON'T GO THERE We came in and the waiters was rude, not even allowing us to choose the table even though there were many tables empty. He put us right by the smoking pair disregarding our complaints. After ordering seafood plate for 20 euros we received quite well aranged plate with... 1 shrimp, small pice of octopus, 3 rings of calamari and 4 tiny clams. And some half done potatoes. Everything was ice cold as if just take out of the fridge. It was our first and last time in...
