I rarely write reviews but this was by far the worst experience I had ever , not only in Greece but wherever I have been around the world. My family (me, wife, 2 hungry kids ) went in and asked whether we could have dinner, seeing that its occupancy was less than half to say the least (estimated headcount was less than 40 clients). A kind waiter led us to a bigger table than the one we chose, stating that it was more suited for four persons. So far so good. Another waiter came by, prepared the table and handed over the menu. So far so good. 5 minutes later another waitress came by and said that she was only responsible to deliver the drinks. I am used to that policy so ok with that as well. We ordered the drinks and said that we are ready to order our main courses as well . She said that another waiter is going to receive the order for the food. The drinks arrived but the master waiter was not coming although other tables were served. We hinted again that we are ready to order and then we heard the unthinkable response from the "master waiter" that he is aware but he is not going to come because he was ordered not to receive any further orders due to "kitchen overload" and thus delay in delivery is certain. We responded that if this takes time what would be a reasonable expectation of this delay, stating also that we have little kids and this ”overload” was not communicated to us before we sit. We were not getting a response other than "it is going to be late". After a rather hilarious discussion on what is the "definition of delay” in actual time, which did not end in a meaningful conclusion (btw dear restaurant managers, time can be described vaguely in minutes, quarters, hours, etc), we simply left, stunned on how a partial full restaurant can reach this level of complete lack of professionalism. For the sake of clarity we were properly dressed and any deviation from courtesy happened only after the waiter tried to blame my family for not understanding the rather inventive definition of "delay". I wish, I could tell you how the food is but we did...
Read moreOrdered a medium rare rib eye steak and got given a slab of pork. When we told the restaurant owner there is no way that is a steak he laughed at us and claimed that "he runs a restaurant he would know what a steak looks like" he then went to the kitchen i assume to check with the chef and came back to continue gaslighting us that there is in no way that it was pork, and that it was definitely medium rare steak. If in any world this was actually steak there is still no way this would be considered medium rare. Despite us being the customers who had looked, tasted, and ate it, we can tell it's 100% pork, the owner was addimant we were in the wrong and wouldn't take our food back or offer any refund at all. The staff were all very rude after this interaction and didn't want to come over for us to get the bill and it all felt very awkward. The only good point is the scenery was lovely but would no way recommend to anyone...
Read moreTa DIKTIA, a taverna woth the most wonderful view in Dassia and maybe the Whole Corfu, offered me the best culinary experience this year(even compari g to Zakynthos, which I visited 1 month ago. We were in Dassia for a 4 days teambuilding, a group of 36 people, and we ate in 4 different tavernas, but everybody was in AWE with the food here. The appetizers were the best-taranama divine, the seefood platter for 2 were huge and could easyly fill 3 people. Also don't miss the special salad and the grilled vegetables with grileld halloumi on top. The seefood was fresh and delicious (octopus, one of top 3 of all my visits to Greece-15 years) and staff very friendly, in spite of the tiredness due to being the end of a busy season. Oh. And don't forget the banana split. Yummmmyyyy. P.S. My belgian owner told me: This is 10 times better than yesterday taverna...
