We chose to visit this place for our breakfast during our stay in Chania. Our initiative was due to the review we saw here. First and foremost, this is a cretan traditional bougatsa and it does not serve the famous greek bougatsa with custard. The only option is the one with cheese and they are toping it with icing sugar. So, be aware of this if you are not keen on cheese bougatsa. Portion wise was ok but price wise was a bit of rip off, by far the most expensive bougatsa I ever paid, 3.5 euros per piece. Just to understand in comparison bougatsa in Greece usually costs 1.80 to 2.50 euros max. Location of the place is random, so nothing impressive to see. It's placed in a busy urban junction with the traffic being really loud and nothing related to "holidays" mode. Better get it take-away and go somewhere more peaceful to eat.

TL;DR "ok" bougatsa and for sure overpriced. If you are visiting other greek places give it a skip and try bougatsa somewhere else with normal prices. Border line...

I’m a big fan of bougatsa and first discovered this delicious dessert last year in Heraklion. Out of curiosity, I stopped by this authentic café to try their version.

Their bougatsa is made in a truly traditional style, not sweet, and you can add as much sugar or cinnamon as you prefer. The taste is different from what you might expect, but interesting and worth trying if you want to experience the original recipe.

The people were friendly, service was quick, and the location is nice, close to the center. Fair price at €3.5. A great stop for anyone who wants to taste authentic Greek...

The menu posted here does not belong to this restaurant. Here they only serve traditional Bougatsa with local cheese. It is very different from the Bougatsa I had in athens. The cheese makes all the difference, it has a better taste, so you ll either love it or hate it. But even if you hate it you can add a tons of cinamon and sugar and you could eat it. If it's your first time trying it, I recommend getting one portion even if your couple and the get another if you like it. That way you can finish the plate easier in case you...

In all fairness, the best cheese pie I've ever had (and I've had uncountable). The cheese is delicate and not at all overwhelming in taste and the phyllo dough is the secret to it's success. They make it themselves and it's so thin and perfectly baked, that makes it crispy. You have the option of adding powder sugar and cinnamon that takes it to another level. There is a long line of people waiting to order (take out), but you also have the option of sitting. When you see the long line of people waiting, you know you're at the right place.
