Mystery Loft Escape Rooms — Attraction in Municipality of Chania

The three of us did The Silent Hill room. I've played the game and seen the movie, and my son just watched the later. All three of us have played a dozen different escape rooms.

THE GOOD: The rooms had a lot of related physical items, the were authentically decorated, and overall it felt very atmospheric. the actor and sound effects were a nice touch (but it needed to differ upon repeat visits).

THE NOT SO GOOD: Beyond the one scene/setting from the movie and some signs, there weren't many puzzle references to Silent Hill. It could have been a generic mental hospital scene. there were many small real world padlocks used (the inexpensive type you buy from the hardware store) which is lame! the puzzles were generally NOT logical, and even when we got multiple clues, they were just ambiguous, and could be interpreted many ways. We resorted to the trial and error method which is not fun. We needed all clues to proceed (but normally we don't). there were three of us, but only given two flashlights, one of them had half brightmess. I pulled out my mobile phone's light, otherwise I was just not able to participate independently (we normally collaborate by verbalising to each other what we've independently found). the host was robotic like he was reading/recalling everything from memory. You can really tell the difference between an enthusiastic owner made and operated escape rooms, and those that aren't. this is the first time I've left an escape room and felt no...

From the moment we entered the building, the mystical and creepy atmosphere was set by dark squeaky stairs with codes and symbols written on the walls! We are an unexperienced family when it comes to escape rooms, so we chose the room called "The last will". We had our eye on "Silent Hill" originally because we love scary stories, although it's recommended for the more experienced ones....but I think we might have to try that one too while we're here!

We absolutely loved The Last Will! The riddles/puzzles are difficult and clever, but managable for families new to this experience. The hosts were so welcoming and service minded, and doing the room in english was no problem at all (our kids are 12 and 14). We recommend visiting Mystery Loft when in Chania, and we will definitely be back for...

We have done a scary escape room once before, but this one really had us shaking. We did the silent hill. It was not only very challenging and clever but also quite scary. We were a little bit late but the staff were very kind and still waited for us and gave us the full time of the experience. Very lovely and funny staff! We really liked that even when we couldn’t manage to escape, one of the people that was working came and told us of what the next steps and clues would’ve been and even gave us a chance to try and figure the rest on our own! Definitely worth the price for the value...
