My partner and I went to Oregano's two days in a row because the food was so delicious. I recommend the chicken risotto, the fried zucchini, pizza and the lovely delfia cake that we got as a thank you before the bill arrived.
On the first visit we shared a pizza and fried zucchini. The fried zucchini were the best I have ever had. Thinly sliced with a small amount of batter. So tasty and delicious! The pizza was fantastic as well.
On the second day my partner had pasta carbonara which he loved and I had chicken risotto. It was just perfect. Enough chicken and bacon and the consistency and flavour of the rice and sauce were lovely. If I go back to Crete I will order it again!
We also ordered fried zucchini on the second day. That day the slices were thicker and there was much more batter. They were not fried long enough for me, but still good. I wish they were cooked and prepared in the same way as the first day though.
I could have done without the promoter who encouraged people to come into the restaurant. We were already on our way in both days and almost turned away on the first day because it just screams tourist trap. The man was polite and very personable, but it still made us a tiny bit uncomfortable. We are still very happy that we went in, because this is now my new favourite...
Read moreOregano's Pizza Bistro in Chania is a hidden gem that delivers an good dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is typical simple greek, blending rustic and modern elements perfectly.
The menu offers a great variety of pizzas, each made with fresh tasty ingredients. We tried the Meat lover to share and had a good experience for dinner. The crust was crispy, and the toppings were generous and flavorful. I personally always like a drop Tabasco on my greek pizzas and I got it also at Oreganos by asking the service.
Service was good; the staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.
Overall, Oregano's Pizza Bistro is a regular Greek pizzeria in Agii Apostoli, Chania serving good...

Oregano is a fantastic pizza spot not far from where we stayed. They use a proper wood-fired oven, which gives their pizzas an amazing flavor and crispness. What really sets them apart is the Greek twist on the toppings – which I really appreciated. I didn’t come to Crete to eat standard Italian pizza, and this felt local, original, and delicious.
We also had their moussaka, which was baked in the wood oven as well – deeply flavorful and perfectly cooked. To start, we shared some meze: creamy tzatziki and oven-roasted peppers – simple and really tasty.
Both the food and the service were top-notch. The only downside was the atmosphere – a bit too much noise from loudspeakers or the street, which made it hard to fully relax. That said, if you’re there for the food, it’s absolutely...
