Elizabeth & Stablos — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Terrible, rude attitude to visitors, the owner is cheating people for the money, the seafood is not fresh. We waited for food for 1 hour and 15 minutes!!!!

When we came to the restaurant, we were told that the waiting time for food is half an hour. We agreed and made an order. As a result, we were brought a basic salad with shrimp and chicken only in 1 hour and 15 minutes!!!! The waiters were walking around with displeased faces and ignored when they were called. The toilet in the restaurant was dirty. The shrimp were not only not fresh, but also half-raw! I did not even eat my food, I had to spit it out into a napkin so much that it was disgusting. I thought at first that I was too picky, but my companion had the same reaction to these rotten shrimps. The whole dish was almost untouched in the end, it was impossible to eat. Then we ordered a small juice, but when it was time to pay, the owner of the restaurant was rude and shouted at us that it was a large juice and we should pay as for a large one. Even we ordered a small one, he intensively pushed and argued in a high tone for these extra 4 euros in order to get more money from us where he can.

Also, when we finally just wanted to pay the bill and just leave this place, their terminal did not work, their wi-fi did not work and we had to wait another 10-15 minutes just to pay for this disgusting dinner. The evening was ruined, we spent 2 hours and left hungry and with an aftertaste of rotten shrimp. No discount or compliment from the restaurant was offered to smooth over the situation. Very disappointed with this attitude, service and quality of products.

This tavern is, with no doubt, the best place we could find during our family vacation in Malia. We are not big fans of huge resorts or a very touristic places and this just perfectly met our expectations of smaller, family like place, where we could eat delicious food in peace. We were wandering around the old town Malia when we stumbled across this beautiful place by accident. The first thing that cought our eye was the whole restaurant setting - I would say typical for authentic Greek tavern, second was the amazing staff. They greeted us with a huge smile and politely asked us to check up the menu even when we were just walking around, it didnt take much persuasion and suddenly we found ourselves to be seated at their table and we were ready to order. They have AMAZING food (from salads and sea food to fresh fish - bonus: after you have eaten your meals, you will be served a fresh fruit bowl included in the price) and even better sangria and wine - we came back two times just for the wine, because the sweet red was literally the best wine we have ever tasted, and we are wine drinkers :D yet no wine ever topped this and I dont think one will ever do. We will just have to come back here I guess :D I recommend this tavern for everybody, who likes home-like warm atmosphere, very nice and friendly staff, wants to try typical greek food in a typical Greek tavern and enjoys a good (perfect) wine. Big plus from us :D) . 6/5 stars, would definitely come back to Crete and the city of Malia just because of this...

Dont go there if you dont want to be overcharged for "not-restoraunt" quality food. We came there at the first evening of our arrival in Malia. Because we saw good reviews. I still scratch my head and guess how someone can give it a such good reviews?! We been attracted by the "kindly friendly" host ,who i guess was Mr.Stablos. he promissed us fresh fish and overdelicious housemaden food. Then we had to wait 2 hours and 5 minutes before our dishes has arrived. I was ordered octopus on grill,my boyfriend - the dish from cheff "elisabeth's chicken". My octopus being burned..... seems 2 hours was not enough to pay attention on this dish... the cheffs chicken was simply so simple - just chicken filley ( or half cause its was look like it was only few pieces of it). And the dish was very poor spiced....sorry for being rude,but i can make such chicken at home in lazy mood in 20 minutes.... in meanwhile till we waz waited for our dishes - the servant brought us a products which we havent ordered. I was smell wromg from start and havent been agreed to eat it. So later i was read in internet that alot of people being charged for food which they havent besn ordered 😔😔😔 the octopus being burned and tasted not like dish fpr 13 €. So we both was very disapointed and sad. My boyfriend has talked about it to host. And the host gave exuces and removed those octppus from bill. But even tho, those dishes was most expensive and not delicious from what we being tryied around Malia... think twice if you want to give your money for such...
