Another gem of a restaurant in Malia's Old Town. Situated on two sides if a small street, San Giorgios is descked out in blue and white with many plants. It has a really nice look to it. The menu is large and covers most of the Greek staples with some other food. I had the lamb Kleftiko, which was served in a ceramic pot that it had apparently been cooked in. It came with red peppers, chopped potatoes and feta. It was delicious, a really nice combination. My wife had the chicken San Giorgio from the chefs pan menu. She loved it, the sauce being the highlight for her. A little bit if sponge cake and raki were given at the end if the meal, both of which were lovely. We went early evening in the middle of May, the restaurant was quiet but got a lot busier later in the evening. If you're going in the peak of the season I'd suggest making a booking. Excellent restaurant, highly...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this place whilst having a walk through old town Malia. It was late evening and it was packed, the place is beautiful, flowers everywhere, stunning interior/exterior (Instagram material), and the atmosphere was unbelievable. We came back for our anniversary dinner a couple of night later and our experience was excellent. Our waiter was a gentleman who is from here and told us he has been working here since 1996, wonderful man and perfect at his job, we felt welcome and relaxed the entire time. The food is amazing, simple Greek, full of flavour, our best meal in our 9 nights of Malia. The wine is local and delicious also. The prices are reasonable and actually low for the entire experience. I couldn’t fault it if I tried, I’m genuinely surprised it hasn’t got a Michelin star. Thank you to the staff, chefs,...
Read moreSan Giorgio is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Malia Old Town! I went with a group of 9 on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was busy yet didn't feel crowded. Despite the large number of guests, the food arrived promptly and the staff took the time to be friendly every time they came to our table.
The atmosphere was warm and romantic. The restaurant offers a range of table locations, some in a rooftop garden and others beside a small 1926 church building, both illuminated by hanging lights.
San Giorgio has an authentic Greek cuisine. I enjoyed the soutzoukakia, which includes homemade meatballs, mashed potato and a rich tomato sauce. I very much enjoyed my meal, was full afterwards and thought it was excellent value for money.
Me and my friends had a wonderful evening and would love to...
