What a wonderfully beautiful restaurant this is. The owner and chef, mamma Katerina was such a delight to be around. The staff so humble and friendly. And The food, oh my God, easily the best Greek food I've ever had, in all the years that I've been coming to Greece. And thanks to the reviews online, I found this quaint little place that will simply surprise you. The beef soup is to die for, reminded my husband of a soup he so fondly ate as a child at his grandma's. The pork in the oven, I never knew pork could be this juicy and tender. All this with house wine, the best Tzatziki ever and lovely dessert, ending it all with a generous portion of Raki. Just wow. Moreover, the prices are unbeatable. She deserves many more customers simply because she is such a kind person and her food speaks for itself. She even customised the menu for one for us because we weren't too hungry. We're easily going back for our last two meals. Forget about those other "Greek" restaurants with a view of the sea. Sokaki is where you should go. Katerina's kindness and hospitality along with some amazing Greek food is all you'll need to make for a wholesome stay at Crete. Even their toilet is worth mentioning, it was so clean, with extras like hand cream and of course a changing station for parents with kids. I'll update with pictures from our delicious...
Read moreResiding in the small alleyway of the hustle and bustle of the main street of restaurants Sokaki is certainly a hidden gem! It is a need to go to restaurant to experience the authentic and beauty of Greek food with homely and welcoming customer service. When me and my family first came in we were stumbled about what to eat, with all the options yet having had same old thing previously, the owner noticed our indecisiveness and gave us her own spin on all the options we were considering. We were a little concerned but when the food arrived we were astonished by the fresh fish and delicious plethora of food. The owner told us they had just got the fish that day and it indeed tasted like so! The food was superb and we even wanted to go the next day. If you’re in the area this is a must go to. I was fighting the urge to tell people to come in amongst the street - wondering why they didn’t have the usual servers outside begging you to come in, I felt like it was my obligation to do so with the excellent food...

The food was fantastic and I was asked how I preferred everything down to the finest detail.
As a food enthusiast, I won't often say 'best I've ever had', but the calamari wasn't just the best squid or seafood. It was one of the best things I've ever tasted in general.
After the calamari, I didn't think anything else would measure up, however the veal stifado was also out of this world.
I saw other people's food and everything looked and smelled great. Large portions all around and reasonably priced. 10 to 15 euros for most mains and around 25 euros for steak etc.
If you are ever in or around Hersonissos, please do yourself a favour and experience this wonderful,...
