Daphne's Place — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

An absolute gem in Pythagorio, Samos! This taverna impressed us from the very first moment. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy, exactly what you would expect from a traditional Greek taverna. The owners' hospitality was exceptional.

The food was simply divine. Every dish, from the fresh mezedes to the perfectly grilled fish, was prepared with love and took us on a culinary journey through Greek cuisine. The homemade specialties were a true highlight, full of flavor and tradition. Especially, the mastelo cheese was our favourite. In the end, we were served also a delicious dessert.

The staff were quite distant and not very attentive, which made us feel rather unwelcome. Unfortunately, the French fries were not fresh — they seemed to have been reheated. When we mentioned this, it was accepted immediately, but no apology was offered, and the attitude afterwards felt even colder.

We also didn’t know that the bread would be charged separately, and we weren’t informed about it in advance. This felt a bit misleading, as in many places such hidden costs are not acceptable.

Best ice cream in Patmos! Closest to gelato texture. Strongly recommend the mastic one and the pistachio one even though it lacks a bit intensity for me, it’s real pistachios and not synthetic flavors like other places in Patmos. Very good mini ice cream also like the chocolate one on the picture.

Also the almond small biscuit at 2€ next to the cashier is amazing ! The small tarts are good, not amazing. The dough could be better and the creams and ganache too but nothing is ever perfect !
