Title: A Symphony of Elegance: ARK in Glyfada - A Culinary Masterpiece
Perched gracefully in Glyfada, ARK (A-R-K) is not just a restaurant, but a symphony of exquisite tastes, breathtaking views, and unparalleled elegance. As you arrive, the convenience of valet parking signals the beginning of a hassle-free, luxurious experience. Located just off the marina, this gem offers a serene embrace with the Riviera's beauty, harmoniously merging nature's splendor with sophisticated architectural design.
The restaurant's interior is a realm of refined elegance, where the enchanting melodies from a skillfully played piano create an atmosphere of professional grace and charm. The presence of a pianist, a true connoisseur of music, adds an extra layer of sophistication to the already chic ambiance.
Choosing to dine outdoors, I was captivated by the stunning marina views, the soothing seaside breeze, and the delightful company of my canine friend. The picturesque setting, accentuated by the rhythmic life of the marina and the panoramic vistas of the Seaside Hotel across the bay, made our business luncheon an event to remember.
Culinary offerings at ARK are a testament to quality and innovation. While the menu is noted for its premium pricing, particularly the seafood selection, it represents a commitment to excellence and a celebration of sophisticated flavors. The dinner menu is an extravagant affair, yet the light lunch options provide a delightful and sufficient alternative for a more subtle experience.
ARK's charm extends beyond its walls, as it is currently enhancing its allure with the construction of an outdoor lounge and pool. This exciting development promises to add another layer of luxury to the ARK experience, creating an oasis of relaxation and social vibrancy that I eagerly anticipate.
Though my personal moments at ARK were not captured in photographs, the essence of its beauty and elegance is vividly portrayed through the myriad of images and videos shared by others. These glimpses, however, are just the beginning of the true splendor that awaits every guest.
In essence, ARK in Glyfada is more than a dining destination; it's a journey of sensory delight and refined luxury. With its mesmerizing views, exquisite dining, and the promise of new luxuries on the horizon, ARK stands as a beacon of sophistication and culinary brilliance. Highly recommended and absolutely worth revisiting, ARK is not just a meal; it's an experience that sings...
Read moreWe arrived on a slow Monday for a late lunch. And although a maximum of about five tables (out of a guessed 100) were occupied, the lady at the door didn’t make us feel welcome at all. We were looking for a nice place to have a drink and maybe a bit to eat, and she “greeted” us with “the bar is closed” and had us look at the menu. Really? That’s how you greet potential customers? She then reluctantly steered us towards some outdoor tables, excluding the obviously nicest table right at the beach front. Why? No idea. That table stayed empty for our entire 90 minute stay. Ordering the food proceeded without too many hick-ups, although again the staff could have tried a bit more to make us feel welcome. We ordered starters, salads, a bottle of rosé and some desserts. While the grilled octopus was excellent as a starter, all zesty and nicely flavoured, the marinated sea bass was … well … sour. And unfortunately mostly tasteless. The arugula salad with fried chicken and a saffron dressing was nicely balanced and worth its price. In contrast, however, the Ark salad - while technically ok - was a bit too much on the sour side of things (again) and could have benefited from a more thoughtful seasoning. Both desserts however were convincing: The “lemon and lemon and lemon” plate impressed with the best lemon sorbet I ever had, while the “chocolate and raspberry” variation presented an impressively densely flavoured mousse. The whole combo set us back about €180 including tips. During the dessert, three of the staff stood behind our table and had a lively conversation about … don’t know. World piece? We were never asked at any time whether the food was ok. Leaving the place, we were not thanked or even acknowledged by the lady at the door, who was too busy chitchatting with a colleague. Given that we had just spent almost €200 on “drinks and maybe a bit to eat”, we didn’t feel appreciated as customers. And...
Read more3stars ONLY for the location and the true effort of some of the staff. Food looked amazing on the menu. Signed by a Top chef , chef Baxevanis, but that's where it all ends. Ordered many things to try , and the place is expensive. Most of the dishes were satisfactory, to very good. But others were major dissapointment. Worst of all , the Tuna tartar, a dish that costs 28 euros. As you will see in the picture, it had very little tuna, so tiny chopped, it was non existent in the mouth. The rest of the creation was cucumber, onion, tomato , there was supposed to be some mango in there , and herbs. And alot of juice of something. Nearly a soup !!! Not for 28 euros , sorry. Asked the shift manager and explained how unhappy we were with this. His attitude and response was beyond! He said he had tasted that dish, and he liked it just fine. And that was that people!!! No apologies, no offer to bring something else , nothing. Ignored totally. I finally went to our waitress , a super polite and kind girl, and told her that I refuse to pay for the dish. Eventually they deducted it from the bill. As we went to the toilet we saw the open kitchen. Where one of the chefs in charge had long long hair in a ponytail, but no cup or hat on, nothing. How appropriate is that? Breaks every rule I know about restaurants. Ark is a very expensive place, and takes advantage of it's location, which is breathtaking, plus the very nice decor. And that's where it ends , for such high prices. Recommend it for coffee, a glass of wine , or even a cocktail at 14 euros , but that's it. A signature menu from a high chef , is not guarantee that will work. Sorry ... You have a...
