Summary: Avoid at any costs, some of the staff do not like tourists and treat them like fouls! Food does also not taste as good as other reviewers claim it. We had much better greek food in Canada. If you want to have below average food and wait for literally 1 hour to pay your bill, then this is the place to go. Otherwise, avoid this restaurant. Don't be fouled by the pictures, the food does not taste even though they display it pretty decently.

Details: We just arrived to Athens and wanted to try some local food. This restaurant seemed like a nice place to try some authentic greek food. So, we decided to try it out. At the beginning, all seemed find. We ordered our two appetizers, drinks and main dishes. One of the appetizers, the eggplant based dish, arrived pretty quickly. It was overall okay, but not the best eggplant dish we had in Greece. The other appetizer, the rabbit dish, arrived very late with the two main dishes. We waited about 30 minutes for these dishes, if not longer. As well, no one checked on us on how the food tastes like or whether we want something else (we actually wanted to order something else, but no one stopped by our table).

The worst part comes now, after waiting for another 20 minutes to see if someone will get our empty plates, we decided to ask for the bill. The main server who was a tall man told us in a very hurrying way "okay" while walking to a different table. He didn't even care to look at us and see what we were saying. After waiting for another 20 or 30 minutes, we asked again this tall gentleman to give us the bill and then he got really mad. He started treating us like fouls and yelled at us to wait for a minute. Then he looked at the next table where there were local greek people were sitting and started laughing. He even added and said that we have to wait for another 2-3 hours since the system was down. However, he was giving others their bills. We did not want to behave in a "cave man style" like this server, so we said fine. During the next 20 minutes or so, we asked several times again when our bill will arrive since we had to leave to get some work done. No one cared to explain why we couldn't pay. We honestly thought of just calculating the final cost and leaving it on the table. If the system was down, they could have used their brains and calculated what we owned them rather than making us wait for 1 hour to get the bill.

These people represent Greece in a VERY, VERY BAD way. We literally felt so offended and will have a horrible story to share with our fellow Canadians. Very sad for Greek people since such people represent very badly their country and tourists will shy away from here even though Greece desperately needs tourists given that they went bankrupt...

I can’t recommend this enough, this was without a doubt the best food my wife and I had during our travels in Greece! The cuisine is Cretan and definitely in a separate category from traditional Greek meals. The flavors were so rich and hearty, that we could literally not stop eating them even when we were full! We started with a plate of the fried pies with herbs (spinach) that were perfectly prepared! Then we had the Jacket potatoes, fried, with staka cream butter….OMG, just absolutely amazing! The staka cream butter comes from a specific region in Crete and is indescribably irresistible, and a must try! Speaking of a must try, you can NOT leave this restaurant without trying the Macarounia tou delikani! It’s traditional style, homemade pasta, with ham (bacon), garlic, graviera cheese, cream, and parsley. This dish is very rich, extremely flavorful, and filling! Just ask the waiters about this dish and watch how their faces light up from how much they enjoy it! We also had a second entree of the pasta with shrimps because we hadn’t found a good Mediterranean style pasta until then and this definitely it home….I wouldn’t put it in the same category with our other entree (pasta with ham), but it was amazing in its own way, just two completely opposite meals. They staff also brought out a homemade liquor similar to raki, but way smoother, and be sure to ask for it with honey and cinnamon….wow, it’s was extremely good! To make the experience even better and to show you how much they care about your experience and the product they give you, the owner comes out and asks for your feedback and if he can do anything for you to make it better! All around you can’t...

I have been coming to Pasifai for several years and have never written a review of this gem Cretan restaurant in Glyfada

Located on a quiet street between the sea road and the main Glyfada center , this restaurant serves up cuisine from Crete . Everything on the menu is either original recipes from the island or inspired by beautiful Cretan food

On this visit I tried some classics and a few new items :

Of course the restaurant always starts you off with a raki to open your appetite. Nice cold and not too strong

Pasifai salad mixed greens with a delicious side of grilled bread and staka smeared on top .

Anthoi (stuffed zucchini flowers with rice) which is a classic dish

Apaki smoked pork and Arsenika homemade sausages for starters .

Pasifai meze is a nice mix of small cut meats done in a pan with aged cheese . So good! Make sure you have bread to get all the juices.

Kapriko (forgot to take a photo ) is a pork belly cooked slowly with what I would describe as lemon leaves and rock salt . Melts in your mouth !

We were offered a yogurt and sweet on top to end the meal

Owner stoped by and checked up on how everything was tasting and if we had any comments to share with him . Great friendly conversation and really nice guy

All I can say about this restaurant is that it’s so good that I make it a point to visit every time I find myself in...

The service is excellent. Everyone was friendly and one man even came and asked us how everything was and would not leave until we gave him our critique (which we did). There were many Greek families there with young children and the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately for us we went not knowing much about Cretan food or what was good to order. The village salad and tsatsiki was average, the bread a little old/hard, the potatoes were not crisp. The least favourite dish was the anchovies in olive oil - it was so sour from the vinegarette it was hard to eat despite the anchovies itself being quite fresh. The man asking for the critique tasted it himself and said he agreed and that it was the Cretan style. The highlight of the meal for us was two: the grilled pork that had so much flavour in itself and came with the most delicious eggplant spread and finally the Greek yogurt and cherries at the end which was so fresh and tasty. I can now see from the other 5 star reviews that they all ordered the meat dishes and not the same as ours so maybe that is the trick. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal a lot.
