Well the owner who we now know is called Massimo (he doesn’t resemble Russel Crowe) said to us in our first day that he’s from Milan and his was the best Italian in Ios. Our taxi driver also said he was a fab restaurant too in our journey to our hotel but is not related. We had a takeaway pizza from here our first night and it was fabulous, thin and crispy with plenty of topping which is just as we like it. Tonight we came first a meal and oh my gosh the food and service did not disappoint. Our meals were amazing and better than our local Italian back home in wales! We were served by Hugo who was French by the way, but so pleasant and such a great waiter - thank you Hugo 🙏
To Massimo, your chef and your team thank you for providing us with stunning Italian meals abd a wonderful atmosphere. We were afraid to try your hammocks just in case at 64 and 62 years of age we would embarrass ourselves. For visitors to Ios who live Italian food we say this is a must try restaurant - honestly and seriously.
Thank you again all for a lovely evening and fab food 🥘 Gareth & Tracey from Wales xxx...
Read moreWent here for a espresso Freddo.... the service was terrible and rude. The waitress told my friend she had to sit on her towel for some reason, still unsure why considering it's a bar next to the beach so people coming in with wet bathers should be expected. The waitress then proceeded to confuse the situation further by spitting out nouns like milk, medium and sweet and expecting us to understand that we were to choose the level of sugar and milk, then got angry when we didn't understand. To top it all off, the place charges insane prices but cant afford Spotify premium? Not that I didn't love a Greek ad or two between the jams but if you're going to charge more than the average ios resturant, it's expected to have more than the average service and drinks. But apart from that, atmosphere is really nice just brought down by Spotify ads and...
Read moreIt’s mentioned by others too that none of the servers speak Greek, which is a bit odd. What is more odd is that they barely speak English too (at least the ones working the evening we had dinner). As a result the service was awkward to say the least and well below what you’d expect in the area. The atmosphere was also odd as the place looks a bit run down, with a decor that reminded the 80s and 90s. Food was passable. Not great, not bad either. Not memorable. The prices are ok for the area where this is probably the most affordable place to eat (for a good reason I suppose…). We didn’t have any cocktails. Overall a very underwhelming experience. You can find way better pizza and pasta places in Chora for comparable or...
