I feel really bad about writing this review, but the dinner we had made me so disappointed, that I must share my experience. We just arrived to Ios and stayed in a hotel close by. We were very tired and were not in the mood to go far for a meal, and the hotel recommended this restaurant. So we just walked there and got a table. The waiter/owner? was very kind and nice. The atmosphere was relaxed, the view of Mylopotas beach is amazing. We ordered some bread and a moussaka each as we love it. To my disappointment the bread rolls came out as the ones you buy in a supermarket at the frozen section and you bake it in the oven. But this was not our main issue. We love moussaka, we had it all over Greece, I even perfected my own recipe. But the one that we had here was the worst we ever had. It was a "deconstructed" moussaka, the tomato based sauce with the mince and besamel on one side, and the potato on the other. The potato was very dry and overbaked, the tomato sauce was tasteless and the besamel sauce was overpowering covering the whole dish in a very thick layer. We didn't eat much on the day, so if we were not that hungry, we would've left it on the plate. I'm not sure about the other dishes, but based on our dish I...
Read moreReached out to this place since the rating was 4.9. But in reality it felt more of a tourist trap than a real 4.9 reviews kind of restaurant.
The waiter dropped my girlfriend’s cup of wine and he didn’t even offered a new glass of wine but just a new empty glass. And not even at the end when paying the bill the cost of the glass of wine neither an apology was given. I basically had to suggest to compensate the dropped glass of wine, which translated in just 3 euros out of the bill (and the wine was not cheap :) ).
The food was ok but nothing special. The moussaka tasted more like just “something” with bechamel.
The meatballs more or less the same, nothing special.
I think for a Greek restaurant and such great cusine this place could do more, starting with the service.
Based on my experience, is more a 4.0 reviews kind of place (price/quality ratio I would say it charges premium for...

We tried the new menu (2 mains and 2 desserts). The blend and balance of flavours (sea bass fricassee with egg-lemon cream and the fish with beans and fennell) were simply perfect! If, at first glance, i thought the menu was a little pricey, that was soon forgotten after a couple of mouthfuls.
Thankfully, there was room for dessert, and the 2 choices on offer were divine (Alternative galaktobouriko and crispy chocolate/chocolate cake with raspberry coulis). Again, the perfect blend and balance of textures and flavours.
Add the scenic view, relaxed atmosphere and warm service and you'll have an experience you're unlikely to forget.
Best experience in Italy and Greece in the 3 weeks on holiday to date and way better than anything I've experienced at home in Australia.
Thank you...
