We came around 22.30 o'clock with 5 kids and 2 adults. They came to us and asked how much people we were. So they would seat us down. First of all they sat us at a small 4pers table. We said no problem. Later an other waitress told us we could go to sit at a bigger table. After we took a seat. It took a while l, but they cleaned it. Again it took time before they came. We even tried calling them after 10min waiting time.. Then we ordered drinks and also told them to bring ASAP fries for our 2 small kids. They waitress asked us do you want 2 portions of garlic bread? Yes okay if it could come before our food. After an other half hour. Finally 2 fries came for our girls. After another 15min came 2 garlic pita's. Looking as very expensive "bread on the table". Nothing ordinary. And 5min after came our food. But....(!) We missed out on my 11 years old sons platter. So poor boy after almost an hour. He could only look at us eating. When we told 2 waiters we were awaiting his food. 20min later it came out. We were finished by then (!). When I spoke to the owner. He came out with the excuse, that it was both our mistakes (?!?). Because we brought 2 drinks for our small girls with us. And because after we were all finished my husband went inside to ask of his food would come. They said 5min. He said okay. So no when I complained the owner said he could have said to cancellation. I told hom, HOW when the boy still needwd to eat! So long story short. They absolutely DON'T care for you....
Read moreTasty lunch today, we are VEGAN so we were very excited about the vegan gyro, it was tasty. I was surprised that a restaurant that is offering a vegan gyro what not also offer a vegan feta cheese option? That's just baffling? We also ordered a Greek salad without cheese and we brought our own vegan cheese with us because my boo plans ahead, so the picture you see with the cheese on it is vegan feta that we brought, at present it's not offered on the menu, but I did suggest that one of the employees, so maybe that will happen in the future. The service was pleasant and the facility was clean, the cats didn't seem to mess with anybody and the beggars were at a minimum, but don't be surprised if you get beggars coming right up to the table while you're eating and they will not give up easily. I didn't check for wi-fi, but the bathroom is up some seriously steep stairs upstairs, so if you're in a wheelchair your s* out of luck, literally. We went on a sunday, and Google maps and the employee we're not on the same page when it came to the hours of operation when they opened. It was maybe only 25 minutes but still I was hungry. As always beware that the hours of operation may not always be up to date on here. I would definitely recommend going though because the vegan gyro was tasty, now if it had vegan feta and vegan tzatziki it might have been one of the best vegan gyros I've ever had in the world. Maybe if enough people requested they will add those items...
Read moreWe have been coming to this place since the day we moved to Kalamata. We tried every other place to see what their mixed grill was like, but nothing compares to this place when it comes to a mixed grill. You order small, and that's more than enough for us (two people). Today we came to have our final meal in Kalamata and move on to Crete, and the Card Machine (or that crazy government machine they have in between) to pay did not work. My wife did not have cash on her. Try tried to swipe several times, but no go. They just said, come back next time and pay. She came back to the table, and we could have walked off, but I had cash on me, so we went back in and wanted to pay, but they didn't want to hear about it. This place is the best, not just because of today, but because of all the times we ate here and the amazing mixed grill that is unmatched. Thank you, Kalamaki! We appreciate you.
PS Seriously, if you are reading this, there is no other mixed grill in Kalamata that...
