Located amidst the rustic charm of Kalamata's old town, provides not just a culinary experience, but a journey into the heart of local tradition, graced by the modern elegance of dining. Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that pairs well with the vintage backdrop of the old town. Exemplary in its approach, the staff embodies the meaning of Greek hospitality. Our culinary adventure began with a mushroom dish - a rarity that underscored the restaurant's commitment to sourcing unique ingredients. Following this, the beetroot salad presented a refreshing symphony of flavours that cleansed our palate. The star of the show was undoubtedly the goat dish. Paired with the traditional local trachana pasta and a rich tomato sauce, this was a masterclass in harmonizing local traditions with modern culinary techniques. A testament to the chef's finesse was the beef tartar and the rib-eye, cooked to a perfect medium rare, which melted in the mouth and was a delight to the senses. the homemade sausages deserve special mention. These delicacies, crafted in-house with a discerning choice of meats and spices, encapsulated the essence of true homemade flavors. Juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection, they resonated with a depth of flavor that only authentic craftsmanship can achieve. Paired alongside their other signature dishes, it was evident that the chefs at the restaurant possess a rare commitment to culinary excellence. No meal, would be complete without indulging in their desserts. The portokalopita was a revelation. The bold citrusy flavour of the orange intertwined seamlessly with the moist cake, and when paired with the accompanying ice cream, it was nothing short of a sweet symphony. The cellar that truly sets it apart. This treasure trove, laden with unique and rare wines, is a vinophile's dream. It's evident that every bottle has been handpicked, with many selections offering a deep dive into Greece’s rich viticultural legacy. Whether you're an aficionado or a casual wine lover, the cellar experience is a journey through the world of wines, guided by knowledgeable staff who weave stories with each pour. It`s a gem in Kalamata's culinary scene. It is where tradition meets modernity, and where each dish tells a story of the region's rich culinary heritage. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of what Kalamata...

Best meal I had during my month in Greece!

Nice design, cozy rooftop, superb quality of ingredients, interesting menu, gem of a wine list. The staff was polite, but then Penny swopped in with her professional kindness and passionate knowledge for natural wine and completely put my evening over-the-top. Not only did I eat extremely well, but Penny was more than happy to let me try various natural wines produced in Greece and was more than generous with her hospitality.

This is an example of how much individuals influence a place (obviously it would have been nice to have other serving staff as knowledgable about the wine list or communicate in English, but more than a critique of others-- because everyone was kind and put up with all of my weird requests-- this is praise of a great managerial figure)... it truly become the most memorable, tasty, and enjoyable dinner out in Greece.

So, go, try everything on the menu (even if it's stuff you might not eat normally) and don't be afraid to ask for the natural wines if that's what you are into-- there's some really great stuff not necessarily on the menu.

Can't...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at K29 in Kalamata, and it was an unforgettable experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly blended modern decor with a touch of traditional Greek charm.

The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, showcasing both local ingredients and creative culinary techniques. I started with the fresh carpaccio appetizer, which was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I opted for the grilled lamb, which was tender and seasoned to perfection. Each bite was a delight!

The service was exceptional; the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was seamless. To top it off, the dessert menu was irresistible. I highly recommend trying the local galatopita; it was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal.

Overall, K29 is a must-visit for anyone in Kalamata. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Although I'm not typically a meat enthusiast, but this restaurant truly amazed me. The dishes' taste and quality were exceptional, especially their sausages, they were truly out of this world. Nikos, the owner, went above and beyond with his warm hospitality and even gifted us a delightful bottle of their exquisite olive oil which we fell in love with during our meal. The dessert was a perfect ending to our fantastic meal. With their own farm for meat, olive groves for oil, and vineyards for wine, the restaurant's commitment to quality is evident. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for those who appreciate exceptional food and hospitality.
