We stopped by as other restaurants were full and this wasn’t - which should have been a warning sign. We had light dinner for the kid with 2 pizzas and a salad. The pizzas were VERY very mediocre. We asked for a pizza box to take almost an entire pizza away and they would not give a box 😂😂😂 instead they gave us a plastic container which squashed the pizza. We paid 72 euros for 2 pizzas and a salad and they would not give us a regular carton box. This summarizes it all. The staff were kinda helpful but they would not charge the kid’s iPad other than behind the bar which they were very obviously lying about since they all had personal phones and surely several chargers. The restaurant didn’t have power banks. Overall - the space is very nice but the food is mediocre especially considering the prices. There is no reason whatsoever to have mediocre pizzas other than mediocre chef. Generally the restaurant has a mediocre chef because it has excellent location, and decor so they don’t bother too much with the food it seems. Plus staff attitude not quite where it should be. We got two glasses of wine which were less filled than the glasses that arrived at the table next to us - we didn’t even bother complaining about that. There were one or two supervisors overlooking everything but as usual there were looking like zombies half asleep starring into the void. You have to wonder really whether they can see anything. We asked to pay and leave like 4 times before we finally got the check. I would not go there again nor recommend it to anyone. It is a shame because the space is really quite nice. And it is a mystery why they can’t just produce the food quality that it deserves as well. It probably comes down to squeezing maximum economics and simply bad professionalism. So - avoid this restaurant. By the way - all the various 4-5 star reviews you see here describing huge portions and other magical stuff MUST be fake so don’t pay too much attention. The place DEFINITELY is not even a 4 star place, maybe 3 with a push but not for the food.
Notice the ridiculous answer of the restaurant to my review which basically says - we usually get a good review 😂😂😂 even that is untrue as the average is 4.4 -...
Read moreI usually eat at this place whenever I'm in Athens but I think this time was my last. Ordered 3 starters which where all excellent and then ordered 2 main course- Salmon with spinach and Scaloppine al limone. That's where everything went wrong. The spinach with the salmon was impossible to eat because of too much salt and after informing them they changed the spinach. Thereafter the Scaloppine sauce was as if it was plain vinegar with brown colour. I opted not to complain so I scraped the sauce of the meat and ate the meat only. Take note that service was excellent until the first complaint thereafter no one approached the table. At the end after I asked for the bill I thought I would inform them that they should ask the chef to try the sauce and make sure that they don't serve the same to another customer. Believe it or not, a restaurant with that standard you would expect someone to come and query and maybe apologize. NO ONE CARED. Very disappointing. Casa Giacomo...
Read moreVery nice atmosphere, nice interior and exterior seating. We went around 8, we wanted to sit outside, we needed to wait for the host to check if they had a free table. He said that the tables front and back deck were reserved but we found a table in the narrow side and it was also nice. Funny thing is most of the tables were still free when we were leaving around 9:30.
We shared a carpaccio with tuna and I found it extremely salty. I had a mango salad with avocado chutney and I was disappointed. My friend was happy with the pasta dish.
The waiter was very polite, helped us with the selection of wine and we ended with a good selection.
Atmosphere is really nice, considering the prices I guess you have a higher expectation then you end up with disappointment. But I won’t give up and definitely try pizza or carbonara next time. There must be a good reason behind al those...
