Buba Bistrot Exotique — Restaurant in Municipality of Kifisia

Lovely restaurant. We went on a Thursday night we had no reservations (I’m not sure if it’s needed) we were looking for drinks only, the hostess gave us a table as there was no space at the bar . The decor seems like a movie with velour curtains, dark lights , vintage furniture loved it . When we sat on the table decided to get some starters to share and enjoy our wine with. The cuisine is mostly asian -Japanese so I really did not understand the set up of cutlery as is unnecessary ,a fork or knife when you eat dumplings ,wonton etc. Service was good but few things to mention . no one came to clean our table , we placed the dishes one on top of the other on the side ready for the staff to take them away ,sadly until we asked for the bill the dishes were there . When I ordered the wine the waiter asked does any of you wants to try or should I pour it ? ( I’m speaking Greek he was speaking Greek too ) so it sounds different. I’m sorry but the question shouldn’t be “if” instead he should’ve asked who would like to try , or if you know you pour it to the person who ordered the wine , seems like the did not take their guests serious.

I would visit the restaurant again only bc I would like to try more options from the menu ! I hope their service will...

First time visiting this restaurant that i found randomly searching for thai food. The ambiance is great with part of the kitchen looking like a street food truck. Good choice of foods - not a huge exhaustive menu which indicates that food is made fresh. Good level of spice and heat for the food. The service is fairly good too.

The things that let it down are:

As soon as you enter the hostess tells you “you only have this table for 2 hrs”. They could certainly be more welcoming.

Not sure if the menu is only available in a QR scan style or in physical format too as they only gave us the online option. I am more of a traditional type of person when it comes to restaurants and would have liked to have a physical menu.

Visited again - food still maintained to standards. Menu still only online but we weren’t told about the table this time which is good. Tried deserts this time too- ice cream. Coconut was very nice and Mango was refreshing. They also treated us to limoncello which is very welcoming. Certainly more welcoming...

Κάτσαμε στον εσωτερικό χώρο μήνα Δεκέμβριο και μια κατσαρίδα ανέβηκε πάνω μου (δείτε την 1η εικόνα). Ευτυχώς η κοπέλα μου βρήκε το θάρρος και την σκότωσε, γιατί και που σηκώθηκα όρθιος και φώναζα κανείς δεν θέλησε να βοηθήσει. Οι δε σερβιτόροι αρχικά δεν μας πίστευαν και χαμογελούσαν. Στη συνέχεια την βρήκαμε στο πάτωμα την δείξαμε και δεν έδωσαν καμιά απολογία, έδειξαν απλά ένα ανοιχτό παράθυρο με σίτα στη γωνία και είπαν ότι επειδή είναι ανοιχτός χώρος αυτό είναι κάτι λογικό να συμβεί. Πιστεύω ότι ένα δωμάτιο με ένα ανοιχτό παράθυρο δεν πρέπει να θεωρείται ανοιχτός χώρος. Εννοείται πληρώσαμε κανονικά όλο το λογαριασμό, ενώ δεν θα έπρεπε. Μας πρότειναν να μας κεράσουν από ένα ποτό στο καθένα αλλά μετά από αυτό ούτε όρεξη έχεις ούτε τους εμπιστεύεσαι. Ο χώρος είναι πολύ σκοτεινός λες και το κάνουν επίτηδες για να μη βλέπεις τις κατσαρίδες. Ένας θεός ξέρει τί γίνεται το καλοκαίρι εκεί μέσα από κατσαρίδες. Και ποιός ξέρει τι γίνεται και στη κουζίνα τους. Όταν πήγα τουαλέτα έριξα μια ματιά στη κουζίνα και τους είδα να πετάνε τα βρώμικα τηγάνια στο πάτωμα. Ναι για πλύσιμο είναι αλλά δεν μου φάνηκε καθόλου καθαρή τακτική αυτή και δείχνει πράγματα για το μαγαζί. Όσον αφορά στα υπόλοιπα, μόλις κάτσαμε το πιάτο μύριζε αυγό, αλλά το κατάλαβε ένας σερβιτόρος και μας το άλλαξε. Τα πιάτα ήταν όλα ακριβά και όχι τόσο ωραία ή γευστικά. Απέχουν πολύ από την αυθεντική κουζίνα και έχουν υποστεί αλλαγές, ίσως για να αρέσουν περισσότερο στο ελληνικό κοινό. Είχαν όλα πάρα πολύ σος και κολυμπούσαν στο ζουμί και ένιωθες μετά το στομάχι σου βαρύ. Οι γαρίδες εννοείται όλες κατεψυγμένες που οκ λογικό αλλά φαίνονταν κακής ποιότητας κατεψυγμένες όχι Α κατηγορίας. Γενικά όλα τα πιάτα αδικαιολόγητα ακριβά. Για δύο κυρίως (από τα φθηνά όχι angus beef ή πάπια Πεκίνου), μια σαλάτα ένα ορεκτικό και ένα ποτήρι κρασί πληρώνεις σχεδόν σαράντα ευρώ το άτομο.
