Old glory place, I've been going there ever since I was little and my dad would take us out on special occasions. However, last time I was there on Saturday, 22nd October 22, food was below par: All three main courses (entrecotes of different styles) were not at the right temperature I'd dare say they were cold. They were cooked though exactly as ordered by each of us (medium-well, medium, and rare) French fries accompanying were also cold-ish and came in a small platter that the waiter distributed among the three of us, leaving us each with just a couple of bites - very small quantity. The salad was over-marinated. No one likes their salad drowned in sauce. The crepes suzette, which are prepared on a trolley right by your table, were really soggy, drowned in the spirit used to set them on fire and with a very sour taste. I've had crepes suzette there and in France so many times - these were absolutely horrid. They should also do something about their bread. Small pieces of french baguette, which has nothing to do with an authentic french baguette, since it was far too airy (can't think of a better word to describe this lightly textured kind of bread), which was not even cut properly or nicely put in the basket, is not the right first impression for any guest.
On another note, the Chicago ice-cream was really good and the service exceptional as always.
I'll definitely go there again since I love the place. But I sincerely hope they'll consider the complains us, regulars, make and think of bettering their...
Read moreI visited the place with a friend on March 8th 2020 after his suggestion. We tried the salad "Blue Pine", the foie gras with figs, spicy tartare and the chateaubriand for 2 people. The salad, foie gras and tartare were executed to perfection and were very tasty. I did not go crazy for the chateaubriand coming with fries cut as sticks and bearnaise sauce but it did not disappoint. In my opinion the service was exceptional and I really approve of the fact that the staff were older people. To me it means that they do not try to substitute experience for cheaper hands. Although the restaurant is in the pricier side, I would definitely suggest if you want to try classic...
Read moreA restaurant living in the past. Exactly as it was in the 80's. Food cold, tasteless meat with unidentified sauces that you could paste the wallpaper with. Chocolate souffle spongy, tasteless and super expensive. Service albeit good however waiter taking our order was rude! We were pressured to order and he had no time to explain. My shoe was stuck to the carpet, looked down and saw the carpet was taped in parts! For such an expensive restaurant the paper menu could have been a better quality and not have prices pencilled in! I could go on. Nightmare experience I don't want to...
