I went on a yoga holiday with my Mum and we stayed in Mavros Molos. It was one of the best trips I’ve been on in a long while. It is a family run business and the entire family are so warm, kind and welcoming. ALL of the staff are kind, attentive and all round beautiful people. The food was an absolute highlight for me, some of the best food I have ever had, literally 5*. Please if you are visiting, order the Seabass and courgette flower dishes- absolutely delicious. To be honest every single thing I tried on the menu throughout my week stay was amazing. Maria and her family spend hours every day prepping the most flavoursome, delicious Greek food. The restaurant is set on the beach, and it’s absolutely stunning. The decor and the setting is breathtaking. As you walk in to the restaurant, you are greated with a beautiful view of the sea, the sound of the waves and boho vibes. It’s perfect for big groups (as we were in a large group of women for the yoga trip), family meals, solo eating, and also I can imagine it for romantic meals too. There are sun beds right on the beach in front of the hotel and you can set yourself up there for the day, dip in the sea, and have yummy food and drinks. The sea is beautiful by the way- crystal clear. The beach had a strip of other restaurants and hotels, and we ate in a few others. But I have to be honest, no where had as good a food as Mavros Molos, in my opinion. Upstairs is the yoga shala which is where we did yoga every day as part of the yoga holiday I was on. It’s overlooking the sea, and one of the most calming and gorgeous spots you could dream of to practice yoga. I stayed in a room upstairs right next to the yoga shala which was lovely, air con, very clean, cleaned every day, sheets and towels changed throughout the week and had a balcony that overlooked the sea. 100% I will be visiting again. Another thing I would say is that as two women travelling together we felt so comfortable, happy and safe. Special mention to Mike who was the most incredible host and lovely person. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He is so passionate about his business, his heritage, which translated through to making sure that everyone who visits has the most relaxing, and memorable experience in beautiful Kissamos. All of his family at Mavros Molos welcomed us with open arms and we had the most fantastic time. If you’re looking for chilled vibes, re-charging your mind and body, great food and kind people, this is the...

We visited Molos in Kissamos during our holidays in Chania, and it quickly became one of the culinary highlights of our trip.
The location is breathtaking – right on the beach, with stunning sea views and a magical sunset. The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and relaxed, perfect for a romantic dinner or a laid-back evening by the sea.
The food was exceptional. Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh, grilled to perfection, and served simply, allowing the quality to shine. The appetizers had a true Cretan touch – rich, authentic, and beautifully prepared. You can clearly feel the passion and care in every dish.
The wine list was a pleasant surprise – well-curated, with excellent local and Greek labels, thoughtfully paired with the menu. The staff really knew their wines and were happy to guide us.
A special shout-out to the owner, Michalis, who warmly greeted us and made sure everything was perfect. His love for what he does is obvious – he’s present, attentive, and genuinely cares about his guests.
If you're anywhere near Kissamos, don’t miss this place. Molos isn’t just a restaurant – it’s an experience that truly captures the heart of Cretan hospitality...

The food was very tasty and presented beautifully. The chicken was very juicy and for the price it was a sizeable portion of meat. The cretan salad was extremly tasty, the croutons were nicely toasted and broken down into smaller pieces. I personally didnt like the olives, the had a very strong and weird flavour (slightly soapy)
The staff is friendly but seemed a bit uncoordinated and therefore sometimes getting the order placed or the bill did take longer than it should.
When you leave the restaurant to the street side you walk by the kitchen, they also said hello and thank you. I thought that...
