Restaurant with great food, greater portions but terrible service.
First let me start with positives. Food was tasty and this tavern surprised us in proper use of real herbs, mainly oregano. Don't judge Taramasalata by its pink color, it was very good. We made a mistake though, since portion size is quite big and more suited for a snack visit or having less other side dishes when proper dining. Chicken Souvlakis were tender and a big surprise. Photos don't do them justice as they were not burned as it may seem.
Portions were that big we had trouble eatting all. It is like 1/3 more than in other restaurants of Kos.
Looks like natives love to visit this place. When we were present, pretty much everyone else ordered fish meals. Judging how good they looked I am wondering if we might have made a mistake by ordering meat.
Tired of eating Giros and Souvlakis all the time? Refresh with a good portion of Horta (seasonal broccoli or swiss chard with olive oil).
Marrows meatballs is made out of zuccini not bone marrow obviously. Good pick!
Now on negatives. Service was straight up terrible. Host had trouble understanding english and therefore whole ordering took a while and we received different food than we ordered. They brought us 3x chicken and 1x pork instead of only pork Souvlakis but we were lucky since chicken ones were much better.
They were out of almost every meat meal unfortunately (lamb chops, chicken etc.).
Bill was 5€ higher than it should be for no reason. We decided to not argue because she wouldn't understand us anyway and it would be a waste of time. They seem to speak italian fluently though.

Read moreFirst i merely wanted to keep it for myself, cause all good local restaurants became worse after being well-known, but this taverna deserves more.
I passed by randomly, decided to try and everything was wonderful. The food is fulfilling and delicious, with a really cheap price for 3 dishes. I couldn't finish all so the lady suggested she could pack it for me, so so appreciate it. Greek salad is full of flavor, tasty and fresh with tomato. Fried fish with smashed tomato included garlic and souvlaki and rice. Everything costs only 18€.
The place doesn't accept card, only cash. It's run by local people with traditional business. So bring your cash. They either speak much English, but are so helpful and warm. Come and experience...

I was recommended this place for its calamari but it was quite chewy. I had way better calamaris in other parts of Greece. I definitely didn’t like the fact that they charged me more and not the prices on the menu. They said “the prices on the menu need to be updated.”… Come on, if it are old prices, then you tell in advance to customers not before when they pay. And oh, it says “no smoking” inside but I saw people smoking inside. Only cash place btw! No cards. A portion of calamari, tzatziki, beer and bread cost 24.5 euro. Considering the price, there is still room for the quality &...
