Teo's Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

I arrived here with a friend (both of us are visible people of colour) a lovely gentleman welcomed us in and sat us down at a table, an older woman who works there (assuming is an owner of sorts) was visibly upset to see us walk into her establishment, she gave us a sour look upon entry and proceeded to yell at other staff in greek, no more than 30 seconds after we sat down she approached our table and told us the restaurant is closed, while a group of around 10 was seated in front of us and many other people were seated eating. We were obviously confused, she asked us if we spoke greek, we said no and she grabbed a different man (another staff member) who told us the kitchen was closed until 7, this same man came out and served another table no more than 5 minutes later. When we drove off and passed the restaurant the same woman gave us a very awful look. We were excited to try the food, shame we didn’t get the chance to have the same experience everyone else did. Would not recommend this place to any POC unless they want to experience a lot...

Second time coming here. First occasion very good second time a different story. Grilled octopus arrived burnt not grilled. Looked burnt, tasted burnt. Brought this to an elderly female member of staff's attention and was told that is how we cook in Greece. Was eventually told a fresh piece would be grilled. When it arrived it was same piece of Octopus. They had brought the same exact dish out to us. They left the same tentacles on the plate that we had cut to show them it was burnt. We have now settled on calamari which is very good. Maybe the chef is off tonight. I am writing this while my wife eating the calamari the bill has yet to be agreed on.. ..... Bill has arrived now...

Today we went there and left disgusted. We ordered tuna salad and tonic water, but before it all we sat down. When we sat down the chairs were dirty (redflag n.1) after that the waiter (idk dude who loked like homeless) brought us menu and didn't even say "hi" or " good afternoon" - nothing!!! When he brought us the tonic with glases, things went down faster and faster - glases were dirty as much as the chairs and when we went to complain about that we saw the bar (let's call it like that) and there were bunch of dirty dishes and my dear god, words can't describe this so we left after that. The whole taverna was dirty! Do not recommend!!!!!!!
