Kooba Seaside Experience — Restaurant in Municipality of Malevizi

Lovely place but wish we knew some things before we visited so I thought I’d leave a review and hopefully help some people out!☀️

🅿️Parking is free onsite and there’s plenty including a little overflow car park, just make sure you use the right car park as the other belongs to another business (car park on the left is Kooba’s!)

👙Sunbeds on the beach are free with the catch of a minimum spend of €10 PER PERSON, not per bed. We found that super reasonable as we would’ve got a drink/snack anyways. You cannot close the umbrella above the loungers, but that isn’t the end of the world.

🏖️ I can’t comment on the pool or other facilities but the beach was indeed lovely. A very fine rocky beach that’s almost sand (which is better in my opinion as less sand in places it doesn’t belong!!) There is a lifeguard on duty at all times too which was nice peace of mind.

💁‍♀️Service was great but we were a bit clueless. They pick the sunbeds available for you to use and they take you to them (you can share preference though). You do not order food/drinks at the bar, instead they have someone walking round which you order with. They deliver food and drinks to your sunbed which is lovely. Card payments (contactless) was accepted.

🥪 Food was reasonably priced from €3-€12 depending on what you order. Also was quite tasty and condiments are available at the bar if needed.

🗑️Plenty of bins around to dispose of waste easily so it doesn’t blow away as it is quite windy.

🚽Toilets are near the beach in the bar and accessible. But be warned, they are disgusting with used toilet tissue piled high and pee all over the floor and seats.

we are locals, we had the birthday party for our kid yesterday and I have to say I was impressed. Not only they have made a customer of me, I will recommend the place to my friends and guests.

first, this cafe/restaurant is very well though of. It is really modern, nice, stylish and comfortable - you can sit by the sea, by the pool, it is very convenient suitable for any time of the day. There is a big pool and smaller one for the very young, everything is very very nice. The music is very nice giving the correct mood without being noticed. The food is mostly modern cousine which is unfortunately typical in such establishments, that's why I give them 3/5 for it. The plates are very decent though and even if I don't appreciate this particular cousine, I am sure that most people do

what makes this place very special is that they are nice people, polite, caring about their guests and customers. They helped us in every way, they were very polite. They showed their quality by being very very understanding and patient with our 12 young ones who run around all over the place, enjoyed the pool and inevitably would jump into it. This understanding and politeness of the staff is without question characteristic of best of Greek hospitality. They acknowledge the kid's need explore and play and are willing not to disallow it just because the place needs to be kept quiet. This is Cretan way, this is the normal way, I 100% prefer places like this because they reflect decency and sympathy.

Staff members are fast and very polite, they understand English so it’s no problem to come here if you can’t speak the Greek language! Huge bonuspoint: YOU DON’T HAVE TO STAND UP TO ORDER OR PAY THE BILL! The staff members are always near you ready to take your order whenever you want.

Prices: I honestly don’t think you can get a better place for your money. IT IS CHEAP! The luxe atmosphere that this place offers is literally ridiculous for the prices they offer. The beds on the beach are even free!! 90% of the prices are maxed at €10. Pizza’s, burgers, yoghurt bowls, sandwiches, cocktails, beers, fresh juices everything is under €10. WATER IS €1!! I spend €33 today and there wasn’t a second that I didn’t have a drink in my hand. NO ENTRY FEE OR HIDDEN CHARGES! IT’S NOT A TOURIST TRAP!!

If you are in Crete, near Heraklion I definitely recommend to visit this place you won’t regret a single euro you spend.
