My recent dining experience at a restaurant in Mytillini left much to be desired. While the food was passable, the abysmal service overshadowed any potential enjoyment. The standout negative aspect was the attitude of a blond lady who served as our waiter. Her arrogance and lack of hospitality created a negative impression from the start.
The first issue that struck me was the sluggishness with which our food was delivered to the table. It seemed as though the kitchen was operating at a snail's pace, and our meals took an unnecessarily long time to arrive. Moreover, the waiter's response to our inquiries regarding the delay was dismissive and haughty, exacerbating the frustration we felt as patrons.
The language barrier also proved to be an obstacle during our interaction with the waiter. While I understand that English may not be the first language in this area, the waiter's responses in broken English were delivered with an air of superiority, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued as customers.
It was evident that the restaurant had an inflated sense of self-importance. They seemed to rely heavily on their reputation and popularity among locals, resulting in a lack of attention and respect for tourists like myself. This attitude further perpetuated the negative experience and left a sour taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally.
Considering the disappointing service I encountered, I cannot recommend this restaurant to fellow tourists seeking an enjoyable dining experience. While the food was acceptable, the overall experience was tarnished by the unpleasant attitude of the staff, particularly the blond lady who served as our waiter. A warm and welcoming atmosphere is an essential component of any dining establishment, and unfortunately, this restaurant failed to meet those basic expectations. It is my hope that they take steps to improve their customer service and create a more inclusive environment for...
Read moreHaving dinner at this unique place was a great experience. I loved the decor and the vibe. The food was fine, although we had much better meals at other restaurants on the island. The most disappointing part was the service. We walked in exactly at the same time as a Greek family and we were seated at adjacent tables. Their order was taken first, which was fine, but while we were given a menu, no one actually came to take our order for a very long time. So long that in fact, the Greek family had already started eating, not just their meze or salad but their fish before the waitress finally came over to take our order. This attitude continued throughout the evening. I wanted to ask for some salt and called the waiter who was just walking past us at the time, he said "one moment" as he was on his way to another table which was perfectly fine, but then on his way back, he just completely ignored us and walked past without stopping. I had to call him over again for him to come. I loved that this place was clearly a restaurant that the local frequent but I wish they treated tourists with a little bit...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience here for dinner. The ladies at the restaurant were super sweet and really nice. The food was fast, homey and so delicious. The menu is in Greek and English. My favourite meal in Mytilini by far. I ordered the zucchini flowers, meatballs in tomato sauce and shrimp saganaki. Everything was so hearty and comforting, especially on a cold night. Prices were very reasonable for the portion size. I was also given a few pieces of fried cheese to try, and a lemony tasting dessert. I left feeling so comfortably full and happy.
I was there ridiculously early because I was starving, so the restaurant was quiet. But, the atmosphere is homey, and there is light, quiet Greek music playing in the background. Many tables inside and outside. Wonderful experience, and I am glad it shaped my last experience of a beautiful island and Greek...
