We were at Armira kai Pioto on July 21. We ordered the 10 course menu for 4 persons. Because two of us has serious problems with sulphites and lactose we asked to the waitress how many of the dishes should contain sulphites and how many should contain lactose. She assured that the menu contains one dish with sulphites (shrimps) and one dish with cheese (swordfish and ravioli filled with cheese). When the dishes arrived we find out that four of them were containing lactose (salad with cheese, swordfish and ravioli filled with cheese, aubergine flan with cheese and fish croquettes with cheese). We said it to another waiter that said that he was sorry for the problem, but he did not offer any alternative solution. When the first waitress came back at our table she said that the person with problems could eat the other dishes, without any apologize. At the end, as present for the table, they brought a nice yogurt with orange marmelade, surely not suggested for lactose intolerance. Read moreThis new restaurant was recommended by the hotel we were staying at, and boy, what a find! It is outstanding. Inside they have a lovely decor that make it look like a food shop. Very clean and modern toilet.
Nice touches abound like a welcome drink and an explanation from the host about their menu because there was no English version at the time of our visit in mid-May 2018. Basically they offer the usual menu type of dishes, or alternatively you can be brave and share smaller meze dishes of the chef's selection that day. So choose say meat, veg or fish, and the chef will send you only that variety.
My wife had prawn pasta cooked in tomato that had an incredible depth of flavour, the sign of real food. I opted for the meze "surprises", which really were outstanding. Other reviewers have called the menu modern Greek, which I'd say is probably a good overall description.
Highly recommended. It may just be too small in peak season, so you may need to book,...
Read moreHere's the deal with this place; you got 2 ways on how you'd like this to work:
You can do 'rounds' which cost 3.5euros pp and you can choose between meat, fish or vegetarian (sort of like tapas). You can have however many you like, however for 2 people I think 3 are enough If you're really hungry I'd recommend having 2 rounds and a main from their menu. They also do have a 'daily' updated menu and all their options sound amazing!
The food was great and really enjoyed it. My partner is English and he quite literally said 'this is food I've never had and am quite happy we came here'!
Our only feedback to improve upon would be to be more attentive of the tables that are set out on the street as service was quite slower, especially...
