Several dishes we wanted weren't available, then one main arrived leaving my partner sitting waiting until theirs arrived 10 minutes later. Then another 10 minutes into eating our starters finally arrived. Food was bland, prices were high, then a man came in playing a musical instrument and yelling (presumably singing?) and shaking a cap at us as though we were the ones expected to pay him, not vice versa. Toilets out of paper towels and didn't have a lock, then they charged us for the bread we didn't ask for that was rock hard. Wouldn't mind these things if it was a cheap place, but we've had much better food for much less in Chora. At the end of it when they asked if it was all good, and explaining the food was bland and uninteresting, they demanded we explain exactly what was wrong, and that everyone else loves it and we must just not like Greek food (despite having it many other places and loving it, and my partner being Balkan and very familiar with the food being served), and so long as we were fed then that's all that matters. Quantity over quality I guess. Very generous 2 stars, if you're walking by on your way into Chora,...
Read moreJust finished eating dinner here with my husband and two young children. We were attracted to the restaurant because they had dinner specials displayed the busy street. Waited some time to be seated. Then took some time for waiter to get to us. After she came to our table I ordered bread since I anticipated some time for our meal. We ordered a veal stew dish and pork dish, both tasted decent. However my Naxos salad seemed to be missed some ingredients and wasn’t as good. However I am giving it two star because the waitress did not give us a receipt and just told us the cost of the meal which seemed higher than I anticipated. My husband paid the bill but I asked for a receipt despite that. I noticed on the bill that they charged me an extra 6 euros. I asked for clarification and the waitress said it was for bread for the table which was listed on the menu for 1.5 Euro but she charged that price PER PERSON!! The bread was a small order not even a large amount. My kids didn’t care for the bread and didn’t even eat it! This was the worst dining experience we had on the island and wish this was...
Read moreAVOID. Naxos has too many good restaurants to waste your time here. Worst experience of our week in Naxos. we were tempted in my the 'grandmother' saying she's run it for 55 years. we should have realised how bad it would be when the waiter got us to lay our own tablecloth! Ordered 4 drinks and had to chat for the last drink for 40mins. Ordered 3 starters and 2 arrived and yet the tzatsiki that should have been the simplest didnt til starters were done. Only 2 out of 3 mains arrived. We chased the 3rd several times only for them to admit they'd served it to another table. We then chose to cancel as others had finished eating and despite them not ever bringing the last dish, they then had an issue with this. And to top it all off, even the food we did receive was all...
