I want to start by acknowledging that I could have handled this situation better. Also I'm autistic which can make hard days harder. I was dealing with a difficult day (anniversary of a death) and I was already overwhelmed. I decided to treat myself to a daybed and a nice meal. As soon as my food was set down a stray cat jumped up and ate off my plate. I was very uncomfortable with what happened and couldn't eat the food. I was basically told I chose to eat at the sunbed and it wasn't their cat or responsibility. Then I was left alone hungry and expected to buy more food. My time there felt ruined soI put money on the table for the drink and the sunbed (that I had used less than an hour),
At that point the server and owner come running after me on the beach. They said I didn't pay enough and they had called the police. My threshold was so low at this point I basically lost it. I had a full on melt down in public. This was really embarrassing and not something that usually happens.
So many things could have been handled differently by everyone involved. Eventually things were worked out. They eventually refunded me for the day bed and I paid for the food I didn't eat.
I was left sad and disgregulated. Just a...
Read moreI really don't understand the high rating of this place. Thinking it would be really good based on the reviews, we just had lunch here: it was terrible. I have never éver had such bad food in Greece. There are so many restaurants with amazing food on Naxos, and this is definitely not one of them.
We had arni fournou, which was supposed to be lamb baked in the oven and is normally a really delicious dish. Well, what was on my plate were 2 small pieces of lamb that I'm entirely sure were boiled(!!), not baked in the oven. It wasn't tender, water from boiling was still coming out and the meat was completely dry and just dead. We also had mussels in garlic and lemon sauce which was supposed to be a main dish, but there were literally (we counted them) only 10 (!) mussels on the plate. The sauce didn't taste fresh either.
Fine to lay on the beach here or to have drinks with your feet in the sand. But...
Read moreAt first glance, Paradise Restaurant Café appears inviting, with its central location and an ambiance designed to lure in hungry travelers. Unfortunately, once seated, the impression fades quickly, as the overall feel resembles more of a tourist stop than an authentic dining experience. The one redeeming factor of my visit was the service. The waitress was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly — qualities that stood out in stark contrast to the food itself. Food Evaluation The menu promised Greek specialties, but what arrived was disappointing. The gyros came without the expected tzatziki, leaving the dish bland and unbalanced. The meat lacked seasoning, resulting in a flavorless bite that felt uninspired. To make matters worse, frozen fries— soggy, generic, and devoid of any character. Rather than a taste of Greece, the meal echoed the feel of...
