Really disappointed with our first and last visit to Alexandros. We reserved a table for the Greek dancing night for our first night in Roda. We were 4 adults and 5 hungry children after travelling for. Ost of the day. We arrived and were seated and offered drinks, watched some dancing, all great. Until 1hr later we were still waiting for our main meals, our children were upset, we hadn't even been offered another drink. I asked very politely and was reassured but not apologised to... nothing. I asked again ... nothing. Not even a basket of bread or something to keep us going. They were busy with all the dancing but if you are a restaurant surely you don't just stop cooking for the dancing. I asked a 3rd time after 1hr 15, still nothing, I even suggested maybe bring us some bread or chips or something as a sweetener to keep the children going who were visibly upset. When we caught the guy who served us on the last straw he told us the kitchen said another 30 minutes!!!! Absolutely ridiculous, not one apology, they even bought us another table's food twice! No offer of anything to keep us going not even attempted to get us to buy another drink once we were empty and if we had waited the 30 minutes we would have been waiting close to 2 hours for food. Completely unacceptable for a table with children. We gave them the chance to change things reaching out kindly, apologising for chasing but got nothing back. We left and will never return!!!! They should be embarrassed with the way we were treated. The dancing was great but perhaps instead of dancing they should get on with...
Read moreGreat, nice and beautifull owners and staff! Taverna has a good view to the beach and sea. We loved serving dinners and lunch meals every day during our holyday in Corfu, for all 10 days. Adonis and his sister, Christina, are running this taverna, and they are doing everything for you, even to prepare extra specialties, e.g. bruschette (as our litle girl wanted in one evening, and Christina did it herself 🙃). The food is tasty, they have also greek main course specialties. The girls were asking each day for grilled octopus. The staff is prompt and friendly (e.g. Kevin did some magic tricks for our girls, with flames out of orange shell and a lighter, when he served them kids-coctails), just like Adonis, who is running all the time from the kitchen to terrace area as much as the rest of the staff, sometimes even more... He's always asking clients if "everything is good for you". You must taste also the delicious chocolate sufflé as desert, if you love chocolate and ice cream. Hint: if you will be a regular client, you will receive for sure 10% discount to final bills.
They offer also free umbrelas and sun beds on the beach, if you order something from their taverna.
Do not miss them, if you go in Roda, Corfu.
Greetings from our side,...
Read moreDon't waste your money. 5 mins from the Roda Beach resort and I'd have rather swam to Albania for a meal than go here again. After having savlouki on many occasions I was rather excited to see they had a Lamb version of the dish. My partner ordered swordfish and after over an hour wait our meal finally arrived... the size of the swordfish and the sliced potatoes of my dish were the most impressive parts. But that made up about 10% of the dish, the other 90% was salad and some rice straight from the microwave. The lamb didn't even taste like lamb and believe me when I say there was literally zero seasoning, which we were told we had to do ourselves?! Rule 101 of cooking, season while preparing your food, even just a fraction. The location is great and our waiter was very polite, but don't be lured in, complete waste of money, even the part we paid for. My advice to the waiter is to go to a better restaurant and my advice the restaurant...
