€18 for 1 overcooked pork souvlaki with fries, 30m wait.
€13,50 for the souvlaki without fries €4,50 for fries at what point does it become a meal?
The wait was 35 minutes but at your own mercy I decided not to emphasise so much, you are teetering dangerously on the edge of good business practice, the irony I was met with after complaining about my meal ontop of the delivery of your responses to the reviews display a great lack of professionalism. ---Response Dear El Greco Team, Thank you for your response to my review. I understand the need to defend your business, but I believe your response misrepresents several aspects of my experience. • Price Breakdown: You're correct that I ordered extra fries. A breakdown on the menu would have been helpful to avoid confusion, but that's my oversight in assuming it was a full meal. • Overcooked Meat: My statement that the souvlaki was "very good" might have been misleading. In the moment, I may have said that to my companions or your server out of politeness. However, upon reflection, the meat was overcooked, as stated originally. This remains the primary issue I raised in the review. • Friend's Review: I absolutely did not ask my friend to write a negative review. His experience was his own, and his opinion is valid. Accusing me of manipulating others is unwarranted. • Wait Time: I appreciate that cooking fresh food takes time. However, 35 minutes does seem excessive, particularly for lunch service with the type of dish ordered. I didn't intend to exaggerate this point. • Plate Cleared: While I often finish my plate to avoid waste, it shouldn't be misconstrued as complete satisfaction with the meal. • Professionalism: Your response's tone feels defensive and accusatory. Constructive criticism can be a valuable tool and necessary step in obtaining professionalism. • Misunderstandings and False Accusations: It's disappointing that you claim I complimented the food and influenced a friend's review. These are simply untrue. I hope this clarifies my position. Customer feedback, even when critical, can be an opportunity to improve. Additionally: • If the souvlaki doesn't typically come with fries, the menu should clearly state that. Standard portions should be understood without extra inquiry. I'm a reasonable person. If there were misunderstandings, they could have been addressed with respect. Instead, I feel misrepresented. I hope you'll reconsider how your responses to customer feedback impact your reputation. I believe in open communication. Perhaps a direct conversation could address these issues productively. Sincerely, Daniel Winstanley
To add there are no edits or amendments, I am very certain in every word I choose, however I keep having to correct your fabrications; your disregard to customers and distinct lack of understanding surrounding the idea of "I'm going to lie about my food because I'm non confrontational" is a defense as strong as wet cardboard; stop being snarky, I can write and edit my reviews when and however many times I want; in that light, I would appreciate an apology for your abysmal efforts towards hospitality and catering, not an argumentative response because, like you clarified, yes I will keep editing my response and I will keep addressing the points you keep adding...
Read moreThe Caesar salad was not tasty! instead of tomato and cucumber, there were no croutons in the salad. a lot of onions and bell peppers. the sauce in the salad was similar to regular mayonnaise. For such a price it's terrible. The Daiquiri cocktail was generally tasteless. but the view is beautiful. although the chairs for the photo could not be changed or removed. the rest of the cocktails were delicious
First of all, it’s none of your business how old we are, and if we can afford to travel to different islands, then clearly we’re not 16 years old, right? 😂 Secondly, pay attention to your terrible service. If someone asks for five menus, give them five, not two. Regarding smoking, you should inform guests that smoking is not allowed in a place with no windows 😂 because people sitting "outside" could smoke freely, but we couldn’t 🙂. The only difference was that they were sitting behind a wooden beam from us. In short, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Your prices are the same as in other restaurants on the island, but for the same price, there’s nothing special, and on top of that, the food isn’t even good. Hire proper chefs. and in my opinion there is no problem if you remove the chair where no one sits! And probably it wasn’t worth expecting a miracle from a place where NO ONE is sitting....
Read moreWe were told (not recommended, told) that we should go to El Greco while we were here by a couple who come to Sidari each summer. If the location wasn’t good enough, right next to a beach with gentle breaking waves that at 8-9pm each night created the most picturesque sunset over Sidari. The amiable and polite, chilled owners and staff made you feel that all those years ago, the restaurant was built just for you, knowing you’d visit one day. So, onto the food. A menu that encapsulated what I perceived Greek food to be. Varied and as of now, a week into my stay, we’ve been 3 times, having 5 different main meals between us as well as different starters and desserts. Each dish is perfect, in regard to the look, the smell you get as it arrives, and oh, the taste. We’ve had arguments as to which is the best dish (Stifado for me, Stamna for my wife).
I don’t do reviews normally, as you can probably tell as it’s so long, but feel compelled to tell you about El Greco. If you’re in sidari, go there at least once. You...
