Cargo! Let's start with breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 sausages & 2 bacon with mushrooms, 1 piece of tinned plum tomato, beans, hash and a slice of toast instead of fried bread and I added a slice of black pudding. Breakfast was good, unfortunately the hash was soggy and one tinned plum tomato was dry. I added black pudding which did its job filling me up. I think this was about €8 no drinks included. A few days later I went for the chicken, bacon & leek pie which cost about €13 without a drink. Great effort on the pie the pastry was delicious and the amount of chicken in the pie was more than expected. Barely any leek and zero bacon but it was still a good pie. The veg was bare minimum with 11 peas, I would have enjoyed a lot more greens nevertheless I enjoyed the mash. It wasn't lump free but it tasted good, gravy was decent but not bisto that's for sure. I had water with both meals for €1. The staff were okay. Once I finished eating it seemed as though I overstayed my welcome. The draught beers are disgusting, flat and served in a warm glass which turned our stomachs. One thing is don't buy draught beer at this venue. Reduced to 2 stars because of the awful beers and not selling...
Read moreHave to say , this was a horrible lunch experience , we were seated where there was about three tables already seated ! It took about fifteen minutes before the drink waitress took our order ! She didn’t take the food order !! We sat about another twenty minutes before the food waitress took our order ! We were ordering baked potato and stuffed peppers!!! Simple as that ! They were more focused on filling tables ! One of our party explained they had diabetes and needed to eat asap ! Waitress that took food order was rude , disrespectful and told us we could leave after waiting an hour at that stage ! We stayed , but many left !!!! Seemed like no proper management or order in taking orders as they came in ! Eventually it was well over an hour , when we got our food ! Baked potato was fine , but stuffed peppers wasn’t so nice ! Drinks were cold and finished , no one seemed to care ! Like I said they stalled giving food to get other in to restaurant ! Definitely shall not go back to this place again ! Not a bit nice , friendly or helpful ! For all of this I giving it a...
Read moreA nice little bar that serves a good range of food with reasonable prices. We chose to eat here because they offered a British Sunday Roast with a choice of chicken, lamb and beef served with Cauliflower cheese, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I chose the lamb and my son chose the beef. Unfortunately, most elements of the roast dinner were not very good. The veg was overcooked, the gravy was too watery with not much flavour, the Yorkshire pudding was terrible as it was hard to cut, overcooked and dry without flavour. The lamb was ok but many small bits, not nice slices, the potatoes didn't look very good but tasted great and the cauliflower cheese was good. My son only ate the cauliflower cheese. His beef was very pale in colour, nothing like the image on the menu and he simply couldn't eat it.
Food aside, the service was good. The drinks were good and the evening entertainment was also really good, it was an ABBA tribute act formed of 2 girls from Yorkshire. They were...
