Firstly the positives. The ambiance and setting is lovely, and the food was very good with huge portions (if anything far too big). Halloumi starter was excellent. The pork belly was really good although could have done with a potato accompaniment rather than so much pork, there were 3 huge pieces. The burger was huge also, with decently homemade patties. Kids menu very limited.
Sadly the visit was marred by really bad service. Asked twice for menus that never came and I had to go hunting for them. Asked to make drinks orders but noone came across, when drinks were asked for took ages to come. Even a bottle of water took forever. Had to ask several times for bill because they didn't bring it when we asked. Just felt like we were an inconvenience to staff rather than a paying customer, everywhere else we ate in Sidari we had much more welcoming and genuinely hospitable staff, seemed like there was no management or owners present,I would not be returning here. If on the Sidari strip I would definitely recommend The Hive...
Read moreAtmosphere- the decor of the restaurant is beautiful, wonderful environment and situated right on the beach, calm and relaxing vibes.
Service- the staff were attentive and helpful, the service was speady but timley as they allowed us enough time to browse the menu. Very polite and welcoming.
Drinks- we ordered the mango mojito and the zombie, they were sweet and alcoholic so great value for money. Presented beautifully also.
Food- we ordered the tempura king prawns to start, they were with a tomato based sauce that was delicious. It did contain szechuan pepper corns which are very tingly to the tongue. A different experience as i had never tried them before, the server offered us some bread to soak up the lovely sauce. For mains we had the chicken souvlaki and mushroom risotto. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and perfect portions.
I would say this restaurant is medium to high price range but is worth every penny. They also have sunbeds available on the beach for customers in...
Read moreWe’ve arrived there on Sunday 1st September 2024 at 11:30 and there were a few people on the beach and the restaurant part. We settled on the beach and found out there is no shower… We said ok.. We had coffee, beer and cocktails. Afterwards around 3 pm we want to have a late lunch and there were a few busy tables and I wanted to sit the one which is the nearest the beach and has sofa. The staff wanted us to move to a small table although there were another 4-5 big tables like that one! I said I’d prefer to sit here as it is more comfy than others and there are a lot of big tables like that one (see the attached video) They insisted us to move to the smaller table. So I lost my appetite and left the place. Rude and disrespectful customer service… Not...
