The Ionian Blue — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

The Ionian Blue is a traditional Greek tavern with homecooked style of food and great service. The food is exactly what homemade Greek food is all about: tasty, with various kinds of spices, olive oil, original and classic recipes, good quantity and decent quality ingredients. We had lunch there, I had a spaghetti Bolognese and my fiance got a "kokkinisto" beef meat with french fries and we both accompanied our dishes with a Greek salad. My spaghetti was very good, tasted nice and was appetite fulfilling! The tomato boiled beef was also very nice, soft and moist, with freshly cut french fries and some green salad to go along. The Greek salad was very good as well, the tomatoes were very tasty. The personnel was very friendly and helpful and the chefs son who served our table was a terrific young man who treated us like family and also was kind and patient enough to answer all our questions regarding the places we wanted to visit and if we were missing any interesting sites. We enjoyed everything including the watermelon that we were served as a treat. The pricing was very good and in accordance to the quantity and quality of food served. Congratulations ladies...

Today we went for lunch from center of Sidari to this restaurant. The 12 minutes of walking time to restaurant were absolutely worth it. The owner family is very friendly and helpful. Greek Musik as background were also very nice. The place is very green, an lot of plants, and has a lot of nice shadow places, so we felt us at 14 pm really comfortable.

Meals were really great. I chose calamaris and my boyfriend had a swordfish. The swordfish was a really big tasty fish steak. Calamaris were also very tasty, really well done. The two tasty sauces were fitting for this meals, and fries were also good. The local beer is also good.

The prices are really ok.

So we have been really enjoying the time.

We spent our first evening at the Ionian Blue Taverna, which offers traditional food according to family recipes- and you can taste it. We had two dishes: Stifado and Calamari. After having eaten Stifado at several other restaurants, I can definitely say it is the best so far. The meat is extremely tender and the stew is bursting with flavor and has a sweet, almost cinnamon taste to it which is quite special. You can definitely taste the love from it.
