FANIS — Restaurant in Municipality of Paxos

We were really disappointed by our experience here. The food is good, the view is amazing and the staff were kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the owner completely ruined it for us. Our puppy accidentally peed a flower pot right outside the restaurant and our daughter apologized and offered to clean it up. Instead of handling it with a bit of understanding or at least showing basic courtesy, the owner directed rude and insulting comments at her. It was shocking and completely unnecessary. Even our young waiter felt compelled to apologise on his boss’s behalf … something which the boss himself never thought to do.

It’s a shame, because the atmosphere created by the staff and the quality of the food deserve praise, but the owner’s attitude left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome. Good restaurants are not only about food and scenery, but also about how customers are treated. Rude customer service from one of the waitresses. My sister is autistic and is very particular about what she can and can’t have due to heightened sensitivity. We ordered a milk shake with no syrup and it arrived with syrup. We asked for another one because it was not what was ordered and the waitress said “well it is here now and ready so why is it a problem”. We explained why she cannot have the syrup and asked for another one and it took over 15 minutes to come back with a disgruntled look on the waitress’ face. This became our go to place for evening drinks while staying in Lakka. You get a great view of the harbour, and people going to and from their yachts on little boats (tenders). A really pleasant place to sit and relax.

The cocktails are top notch. Not too sweet, or weak, like they can be in some places.

The service from the staff was also impeccable. Smiley, happy, helpful and enthusiastic staff across the board, and on multiple nights. Absolutely flawless service.

As a side note, I also discovered that the beefburgers served here are top notch, which is something I didn't expect. Hats off...
