This was a bit of a last minute break and as we have recently started trying some of the smaller Greek islands thought we would give this a try. Will be honest price paid a huge amount in our decision as this seemed very cheap compared to most other options available to us ( flight from Edinburgh).|Based on price weren’t sure what to expect. Definitely did not expect level of service we received- it was excellent.|We stayed in Room 25 which had partial sea view, room was clean and everything worked as it should. Room was, in our opinion, better than the typical Greek accommodation. Read a few of the negative reviews and for what it’s worth these are my answers to them. Kitchen area being small. It is, however had a kettle and a toaster which other than fridge was all we used. Though it does have small oven/hot plate so if you really want to you could have cooked something. TBH didn’t find it any smaller than motorhome trips we have been on. Bathroom again small but fully functional, albeit shower a little underpowered.||Pool area really nice with a decent bar, didn’t eat here but food was available. Bar at front of hotel nice too.||We rented a car direct from hotel through the owner, Babis (really nice guy), picked a small car as some of the roads very narrow. Got a new Peugeot 108 great for narrow roads but possibly a little underpowered for some of the real steep roads on the island. ||Hotel also runs a daily bus to nearby beach, free of charge, as we hired car didn’t use this facility but it does mean you wouldn’t have to hire a car if you didn’t fancy driving. ||All of the staff we interacted with were lovely, though as family run hotel suspect a lot are family. Nonetheless they were all really nice.||Would not hesitate to recommend or if we return to Lakka would stay here again...
Read moreWe have been to Greek islands for the last 35 years, so we are used to ‘basic’ Greek accommodation. So bear that in mind. I’m not going to complain, just tell you the truth here. The room we had, which I think was probably the worst in the hotel (we had sneaky looks in 3 or 4 others), has two things going for it. The bed was huge and comfortable, and it had a fridge. The ‘kitchen’ was a joke, it was in the bedroom and had a sink but only a cold water tap, and very tatty. The bathroom was so small, the shower was lovely and powerful, but you couldn’t possibly draw the curtain on it, so water was always over the floor. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly. |So €1 a night for the safe, €1 a day for a pool towel, €9, yes nine, a night for A/C. If you’re not very fit, it’s 54,steps from reception to the third floor (where our room was), and then another 39 to the pool area. On the plus side the pool was lovely, the pool bar was fine, only down side was the pile of broken sunbeds in the corner, and the blue sunbeds that were round the pool were dirty. Breakfast is taken in the pool bar, and was ok, apart from the watered down fruit juice. The ground floor bar was also good. Rooms were well cleaned every day, fresh bedding and towels.|On a general Paxos note, it is really expensive, drinks, food and supplies. Lakka is lovely, but quite honestly we couldn’t afford to...
Read moreWhat a lovely place! The hotel staff could not be friendlier the location in relation to the village is absolutely 100% perfect. The swimming pool, while a number of steps up, was absolutely perfect for us as there was nobody else in it and we had it practically to ourselves. There were plenty of sunbeds and tables with chairs available at all times during the day. Breakfast was absolutely fine and the staff were so lovely. The rooms are basic and clean but with plenty of space and good aircon. My only query would be that we had to pay extra for the air-conditioning when we arrived, but that is more an issue with the tour operator. I would think. Within five minutes walk you could be in any number of restaurants or on one of three lovely small beaches. Yacht watching opportunities and people watching opportunities were in abundance. What a lovely place to relax and holiday. I sadly had to leave the rest of my family to go back to Ireland for a funeral but the staff could not have been more helpful. Very good value holiday and I will be booking exactly the same holiday and exactly the same rooms again...
