Gusto del Mare — Restaurant in Municipality of Platanias

We were guests in Platanias 2-9/5-25 g we ate for 6 of the 7 days in Gusto del Mare, at the host Alex. On the 7th day we ate somewhere else because it was a rather windy day, and we were concerned about Gusto del Mare's otherwise excellent location directly on the beach. We did not get the same quality of preparation or ingredients on the 7th day that we had been treated to at Alex's and therefore returned immediately and no longer felt the urge to change places to eat. Our orders were evenly distributed over the extensive menu and everything was well-prepared and made from selected and fresh ingredients and made according to exciting recipes. Food that was worth waiting a little for and was always served with both friendly courtesy and humor. The menu offers options for every taste and budget and no one will leave the table hungry. Other reviews don’t resonate in terms of our experience. We were left without any food for the best part of an hour and even another table was served ahead of us. Rather than be kept informed that the food was taking a while, we had to complain to get things moving. We were told this was due to the salmon, but the only explanation is that the salmon was frozen, given it’s a quick dish to cook. The restaurant was really quiet so there’s no reasonable explanation.

Our plates were then left indefinitely, and we eventually had to leave as our baby was long overdue his bed.

In summary, very slow service and poor communication and food was ok. Seafood appears to all be frozen, which is a shame if this is what you’re hoping for next to the beach with nice...

I had a wonderful experience at Gusto Del Mare. The staff are always very attentive and make sure everything is perfectly managed throughout the meal. Their friendliness and warm attitude made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The food served was incredibly fresh, and I was impressed by how quickly the dishes arrived at the table without compromising quality. It’s clear that they take great care in both their service and the ingredients they use.
