e have eaten at asikiko at least 15 times, we were thrilled with their food therefore we have been choosing it eversince. With great sorrow we can confirm that within the last 3 years, food and service has been from medium to bad! Today was the last time for us. We wiil not visit again. Service running up and down with stress and actions like "smile" + "human contact" are forgotten and unknown. Customers are not people, they are just euros. I visited the bathroom and it was the worst toilet experience ever. Pee all around and it was so hot as if you were in a sauna. We paid 71,50 euro in total ( 2 people table) basically for a salad and a saganaki pastelli ( just decend in flavour) because our main dishes ( veal cheeks and veal osobuko) were non eatable and completely worthless. ( garlic and chilli was the main ingredient obviously). We did not eat them, we just tried 3 bites. We informed them about that but they decided that we should pay all of them, even without offering anything as alternative or giving us an apology for our crappy experience. 71,50 euro for making our stomach and our mood a mess. Never again!! There are many great restaurants in the city with far more better service...

All in all it wasn’t a good experience. The waiters were lovely before we took a seat but once we did they were more concerned with seating new people or attending to other tables. While we waited for a server to come and take our order after trying to get their attention, the server that did come was completely in a hurry and barely listening or looking at us. While the food was mediocre but brought quickly, the servers were constantly running around us catering to other tables but constantly ignoring us. We always had to almost physical leave the table and shake the server to get their attention. After that we paid and as usual dinner is typically followed by Raki. However we didn’t receive any, and as my partner I live on the island for the last couple of years, this is out of the ordinary. Again we had to essentially get up and ask the server for service…. Once we left the manager or whoever said goodbye without even a glance in our direction. To sum up go to the restaurant next door where the food is much better and the service...

First of all the food was delicious. Good amount as well.

We had the mushroom risotto, lamb kleftiko And the cretan salad.

For me personally the cretan salad was the best. Followed by the lamb kleftiko and then the mushroom risotto.

I would definitely recommend eating here.

Edit: the second time we ate here the food was still delicious. A few cons though.

The cretan salad barely had any olives. This time it was mainly tomato's while the first time we ate there it had a good variety of the different ingredients. It was still delicious nonetheless

We tip 99% of the time. Unless the experience is really bad. The first time I told the waiter to add 10% as soon as he came with the bill. This time (2nd visit) my girlfriend paid. She wanted to give them 10% tip as cash in the little casket the bill comes in. Before she could put the cash in there the waiter asked if we were willing to tip This is the only restaurant that asks for a tip.

It kinda...

Our visit to Asikiko was pretty nice, the staff there were very helpful and our service was pretty fast. The foo4 was nice, but the daily menu, well, you have to consider other clients who doesnt like the chef taste. Now the dish with the steak and the hot sauce you have to indicate that it's a fish sauce and it's not rhat tasty. Plus, the steak was cold like it was pre heated. Secondly, you have to ask before order or have it in your policy if clients have any allergies on food. Because if someone is alergic to fish and they get a steak with a fish sauce, then you'll be in trouble. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was fast. Please consider having tasters before giving a dish to the crowd and always ask for allergies before taking an order. All other plates were delicious, and you totally saved yourself's with the sweet after the meal. Thank you for the dining customer experience.

We have no words! We arrived at Rethymno after a long day of travelling and it was the 1st place we saw and thought to have our lunch. In the old city of Rethymno, we didn't expect too much but we have no words of how GOOD everything tasted. Kudos to the stuff preparing everything and of course to the waiters for the great service! We had the pasta with chicken and cheese, the sausage with "kimchi" cabbage (if you have tried original kimchi you will notice the difference since this one was like a pickled cabbage with something spicy) and if I'm not mistaken a paste of beans and mustard, the AMAZING dakos salad which was refreshing and tastefully, grilled cheese with jam and they bring you in the beginning warm bread with olive oil and tomato and in the end they bring you on the house some halve dessert which is light and delightful!
