Hercules Restaurant Rethimno — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

We stayed in rethymno for 7 nights and hercules is the only restaurant we chose to visit more than once. Not twice, but three times.

The hospitality we were shown was above and beyond all expectations. We were always welcomed with a smile, great enthusiasm and enjoyed the conversations throughout our visits.

We ordered a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes over our visits and all were delicious. Catering for vegetarians/ pescatarians is certainly not an issue for Hercules. As well as the food satisfying for flavour and hunger, it was also excellent value for money.

We were informed by the manager that the restaurant was short staffed but our experiences were always 5*. The father and daughter team were flawless with their service and managing the tables.

The view from the restaurant is something that has to be mentioned as well. We were lucky enough to be dining in the perfect position to see the sunset over the harbour.

Our visits to Hercules stood out as highlights of our holiday and I'm sure we will never forget them. We will be sure to dine there again if we ever...

A great place to eat! The food is tasty, simple, not fancy, but home-made, what makes it even better to enjoy. The portions are big! There is a lot of variety and the prices are very good! The eggplant salad with the toasts is very delicious, it is more like a spread, rather than a salad, but worth ordering. After the first visit, I came back 4 or 5 times more. Hercules-the owner of the place takes care of his guests. He is very friendly, smiley, polite. He and Alex work together hand by hand. They always ask you how you are, if your food is ok and make a little chat. The place is clean and taken care of. After every meal, you are given a dessert for free: a piece of pie with honey and a piece of fruit, like watermelon or other, that is a nice detail from the restaurant’s side. Edit. I will not take the publication away. There were 5 of us, so the amount was about 25e / person. In Finland, the 25e per person is really a lot, especially when no one even took any special drinks and here the peoples salaries are higher than in Greece. So how in Greece can be so expensive. Because the amount is not correct. We took food in addition to only water or soda drinks. Due to the large amount, we calculated the amount of food we ordered according to the price list / menu, and still could not match the invoice/bill.
