Sol Dini — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

I am extremely disappointed with the service and the quantity of food we received. My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant, and we sincerely regretted not reading the reviews of the numerous dissatisfied customers beforehand. Unfortunately, our experience with the food was also highly disappointing. We ordered a lobster, which was supposed to be split in half. However, it took us over an hour to receive our food, and when it finally arrived, one side of the lobster was raw while the other side was slightly overcooked. We sent the raw half back and decided not to eat it due to its undercooked state. When we approached the owner while settling the bill, he insisted that we pay for the entire lobster, which was significantly overpriced. Furthermore, he showed no concern for our dissatisfaction. We ended up paying the full amount out of fear of facing any repercussions in a foreign country, despite the fact that the plate of food was truly awful. Do not go to this place!! The price-quality ratio isn’t right at all. Food is below the average. We passed this place to go to another restaurant which was 100 meters away. There was a guy who invited people to eat there. We said that we are going to another place and then he asked where. Then we showed restaurant name and the guy said that this restaurant is closed. We believed him and we sat down. After we ordered the food my husband was going to put baby to sleep with buggy and walked near the restaurants. He passed the restaurant that we wanted to go and saw it is open. This Sol Dini guy lied us to get customers. After we talked the guy in restaurant where we wanted to go and the waitress there said that they lie to everybody. We ordered seafood plate. Everything was so oili and food was below average. Two giant prawns cost us 50€. They were so overcooked and it was even hard to cut them with the knife. This cost 150€ for us what was...

I had a truly unpleasant experience at this place. Yesterday I went with friends and our kids. The waiter welcomed us inside, and we clearly said we only wanted to have some drinks. After we sat down, another waiter came over in an extremely rude and disrespectful manner, basically throwing us out. He told us that it was not possible to just order drinks, because we were “taking up too much space” in the restaurant, and if we didn’t order food, we had to leave.

This kind of treatment is absolutely unacceptable. Instead of being polite or professional, the staff showed arrogance and zero hospitality. If a restaurant does not allow guests to have only drinks, it should be stated upfront – not after inviting people in, and definitely not in such a hostile and offensive way.
