Knights of Olde / Παλιοί Ιππότες — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We went to eat here and it started of good. The waiter asked us if we smoked or not, which is nice because not all restaurants do this. We got the menus and immediately noticed that this restaurant was quite expensive for this area. Before we could even order we where asked if we would like to pay by card or cash which we found extremely odd as we never had this happen to us before in this area. We had garlic bread as a starter which was fine but not special for the local restaurants here. Then after a bit our mains came. Spaghetti bolognese and pizza special. They where both fine but for the price we found both dishes disappointing. They where not worth them being priced higher than the other restaurants in this area. Than the fun started. They cleaned our table and asked if we wanted dessert, we said no. Then after waiting a while we had to ask them for the bill separately. This then took a long time to arrive in a box. After this we had to wait another long while. We had let them know from the start that we wanted to pay by card to this was really annoyin. Then after just letting us sit there with the bill for a while and knowing we wanted to pay by card we had to ask again, only to be told then that we needed to go to the bar. We also never got a after dinner gift like ouzo or something which is common for this area. After making my way to the bar I was asked if I would like to tip and how much %. We never encountered any restaurants in this area which asked you to tip. Obviously we did not leave any tip. Afterwards my girlfriend had a upset stomach from the food all night.

We don't recommend eating here as there are way better options close by that have better...

First time visiting Ialysos. Found this little gem after a day at the beach. It looked such a beautiful place, so we went later that evening. No problem getting seated fairly quickly.

The food... WOW! Absolutely amazing. Me and my partner got a garlic bread, asked for it to come with cheese. They had no problem doing this for us. I had the fillet steak with pepper sauce and fries.. One of thee best cooked steaks I've ever had!! My partner tried a variety of meals over the course of three separate visits. Each time was as amazing as the last. On our last day in Ialysos, we booked to eat here before we left so we had a good meal before coming home. We tried their homemade lemonade - amazingly refreshing!! Wish I had of tried it sooner! As we was leaving, they gifted us a lovely souvenir ashtray, which we found very thoughtful. The staff were very welcoming on every visit. Very helpful too. Had no problems with helping us getting a nice seat or even the cheese on the garlic bread!

Will 10000% definitely return here when we come...

Selected this restaurant after seeing previous reviews and looked at it as we strolled by in the evenings. The place and staff were well presented with a nice ambiance. The food was delicious and generous portions for each course ( you could easily make a starter or dessert share between 2 people ) House wines are excellent too. We were here for our wedding anniversary meal as this place looked to be a bit special, we were not disappointed. Recommended. This review was published on TripAdvisor and since then we returned for another delicious meal and I would now like to increase their rating to a “ fine dining “ restaurant but not at exorbitant fie dining prices!
