Roussos Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

Almost perfect! The food was extremely flavourful and very well cooked. The starters we ordered were tasty the moussaka was so good and not too heavy (even in the other good tavernas we tried all around Greece they didn’t achieve to have it cooked this well!). We were even offered an appetiser on the house which was a very nice welcome. Really loved it! Now why we thought to give 4 start instead of 5: We found that the waiter that took care of us was nice until a confusion with the order was not managed as one would expect. He then completely changed his attitude, looking visibly annoyed and speaking on an arguing tone. As you can see on the picture with the menu in front of the restaurant, we ordered a grilled stuffed calamari as main dish (we came in the restaurant for that among others). A plate of fried calamari arrived with the main course so we kindly told to the waiter that brought it that it wasn’t our order. The plate stayed 5min on the table until the waiter that originally took our order arrived telling us that the only dish with calamari on the menu currently is this one and that the menu at the entrance of the restaurant is 3 years old. He took the plate back to the kitchen and didn’t even propose a replacement. It took some more time until he came back to us to even ask if we wanted something else but by that time we were almost done with the main course. This attitude marked our overall experience and review of this restaurant with a remarquable cuisine. This place is amazing. A family owned place with enough character to bring people back again and again. The staff are so friendly and the food is just absolutely top notch. I've been to many different European countries over the years and this is by far one of the best I've ever been to.

I would highly recommend booking a table, either go down in person during the day and book for a night you want. I booked for about 8 o clock and the view as the sun goes down and the lights go on is really something else.

I had Fried Meatballs with sauce and no one should be able to cook food this good. The sauce is other worldly and the meatballs are crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside. I know that sounds ridiculous but honestly, try them you will not be disappointed.

My wife had the shrimp and she says they are the best she's ever had, we've eaten out every night on our trip and she's amazed at how good they are, so good we're going back again. I can imagine everything on the menu is going to be an 11/10.

We just came back from eating there and to be very clear, we were witnesses of the guy, that gave a 1 star review. His rude and disrespectful behavior really was a second hand embarrassment. Theres no need to yell at friendly and calm personell, just because someone has to have it his way. (And then threat with a negative review). With that being said, this inconvenience only startled our mood for a second. The rest was made up for with the gorgeous view and beautiful details. The owner obviously puts a lot of love into his restaurant. Both of us (my partner and I) also didnt have reservations and were more than happy to even be served since the restaurant was fully booked.
