We were in search of a sit down restaurant for a late lunch a little before 2:00 p.m. We had a hard time finding anything in the area that was more than a cafe and stumbled upon this restaurant, just a block from the Rotunda, up the hill from the Arch of Galerius. When we arrived no one was at the restaurant. We took a chance because we were starved, and shortly after 2:00 p.m., the place had completely filled up with locals. We started with fried feta and honey. Next came pork which was seasoned wonderfully. The bread service had a good texture, but was rather bland. Service was good. Read moreThe place has awards but the food and service are totally overrated. Regarding the food, it is relatively fair priced compared to similar places but tasteless and oily at least. Maybe there is a preference for oily foods here in Thessaloniki but the thing is oil sometimes stick to the mouth for hours. Salads and meats are good but anything else was left intact. Regarding the service there should be more people serving since the tables are always full and you may expet more than a half an hour delays for taking the order or getting the bill. I've worked in a few restaurants, visited many more and my dad is a chef - so I like to think I might have some experience and knowledge in the field of culinary and this place deserves all the good reviews.
Food was delicious. We ordered 3 separate dishes and all of them were amazing. Portion sizes are big so in the end it turned out the appetizer was a little too much 😅
Service was very professional. The gentleman who served us - prepared us a traditional ouzo drink and we even got these cute little ice cream desserts on the house!
