Μπουγάτσα (pronounced bouyatsa), was and still is a favourite snack in Thessaloniki. It's a sort of dough pastry pie, what we Greeks call 'pita' and it's a delicious, filling food, that can easily replace a meal. Bouyatsa comes with various fillings. Most common is with feta cheese. Other tastes are minced meat, spinach and cream. The price for a portion is 2.5 to 3 euros. The shop in question is the best of its kind in Thessaloniki.
